LIGHTING SYSTEM Indicator Circuit

DESCRIPTION

The headlight beam level control system indicator light in the combination meter assembly comes on for approximately 3 seconds when the engine switch is turned on (IG). The indicator light also comes on when the headlight leveling ECU assembly detects a malfunction.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE


  1. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (BATTERY - COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY)


    1. Disconnect the G19 combination meter assembly connector.

    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage
      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      G19-1 (IG2) - Body ground Engine switch on (IG) 11 to 14 V
      Engine switch off Below 1 V

    NG

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

    OK

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY - HEADLIGHT LEVELING ECU ASSEMBLY)


    1. Disconnect the A34 headlight leveling ECU assembly connector.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A34-6 (WNG) - G19-36 (LVWG) Always Below 1 Ω
      A34-6 (WNG) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    NG

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

    OK

  3. INSPECT COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY


    1. A01CCZCE02

      Reconnect the G19 combination meter assembly connector.

    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage
      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      G19-36 (LVWG) - Body ground Engine switch on (IG) 11 to 14 V

    NG
