LIGHTING SYSTEM AFS OFF Switch Circuit

DESCRIPTION

When the AFS OFF switch is pushed (ON), the AFS ECU will cancel the intelligent AFS control and turn on the AFS OFF indicator light.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE


  1. READ VALUE USING INTELLIGENT TESTER


    1. Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the engine switch on (IG).

    3. Turn the intelligent tester on.

    4. Enter the following menus: Body / AFS / Data List.

    5. Read the display on the intelligent tester.

      AFS OFF Switch AFS OFF switch signal/ ON or OFF

      ON: AFS OFF switch pushed

      OFF: AFS OFF switch not pushed

      Normal conditions listed above are displayed.

    NG

    INSPECT AFS OFF SWITCH Click here

    OK

    PROCEED TO NEXT SUSPECTED AREA SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE Click here

  2. INSPECT AFS OFF SWITCH


    1. Remove the AFS OFF switch Click here.

    2. A01CBOVE42

      Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      6 - 3 Not pushed (OFF) 10 kΩ or higher
      Pushed (ON) Below 1 Ω

    NG

    REPLACE AFS OFF SWITCH Click here

    OK

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (AFS OFF SWITCH - AFS ECU)


    1. Disconnect the A23 AFS ECU connector.

    2. Disconnect the G94 AFS OFF switch connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A23-32 (MSW) - G94-6 Always Below 1 Ω
      A23-32 (MSW) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

    OK

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (AFS OFF SWITCH - BODY GROUND)


    1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      G94-3 - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

    OK
