INSPECTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE

  1. INSPECT REAR HEIGHT CONTROL SENSOR SUB-ASSEMBLY LH

    1. A01CECVE01

Connect 3 dry cell batteries (1.5 V) in series.

    2. Remove the rear height control sensor sub-assembly LH.

    3. Connect a positive (+) lead from the batteries to terminal 3 (SHB) and a negative (-) lead from the batteries to terminal 1 (SHG).

    4. Measure the voltage between terminals 2 (SHRR) and 1 (SHG) while slowly moving the link up and down.

      Standard Voltage
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      2 (SHRR) - 1 (SHG) +45° (High) 4.05 V
      2 (SHRR) - 1 (SHG) 0°(normal) 2.25 V
      2 (SHRR) - 1 (SHG) -45° (Low) 0.45 V

    NG
    OK
  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (ECU - REAR HEIGHT CONTROL SENSOR SUB-ASSEMBLY LH)

    1. Disconnect the A34 headlight leveling ECU assembly connector.

    2. Disconnect the N7 rear height control sensor sub-assembly LH connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A34-12 (SBR) - N7-3 (SHB) Always Below 1 Ω
      A34-19 (SHRL) - N7-2 (SHRR) Always Below 1 Ω
      A34-21 (SGR) - N7-1 (SHG) Always Below 1 Ω
A34-12 (SBR) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
A34-19 (SHRL) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
A34-21 (SGR) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    NG
    OK
