COMPRESSOR (for 2AZ-FE) REMOVAL


  1. RECOVER REFRIGERANT FROM REFRIGERATION SYSTEM


    1. Start up the engine.

    2. Turn the A/C switch on.

    3. Operate the cooler compressor at an engine speed of approximately 1000 rpm for 5 to 6 minutes to circulate the refrigerant. This causes most of the compressor oil from the various components of the A/C system to collect in the A/C compressor.

    4. Stop the engine.

    5. Recover the refrigerant from the A/C system using a refrigerant recovery unit.

  2. REMOVE FRONT WHEEL RH

  3. REMOVE REAR ENGINE UNDER COVER RH

  4. REMOVE RADIATOR COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY

      Using a clip remover, remove the 4 clips and radiator cover sub-assembly.

  5. SEPARATE RADIATOR RESERVE TANK ASSEMBLY


    1. A01CERE

      Disconnect the wire clamp.

    2. A01CBJF

      Disconnect the No. 1 and No. 2 water by-pass hoses.

    3. Remove the bolt and radiator reserve tank assembly.

  6. REMOVE RADIATOR RESERVE TANK BRACKET

      Remove the 2 bolts and radiator reserve tank bracket.

  7. REMOVE V-RIBBED BELT

      Using SST, slowly turn the V-ribbed belt tensioner clockwise.

    2. Remove the V-ribbed belt from each pulley and slowly return the tensioner.

      Note


      • Make sure that SST and other tools are set to the tensioner securely.

      • When compressing the V-ribbed belt tensioner, slowly turn the tensioner.

      • Be careful not to pinch your fingers between the parts.

  8. DISCONNECT NO. 1 COOLER REFRIGERANT SUCTION HOSE

      Remove the bolt and disconnect the No. 1 cooler refrigerant suction hose from the compressor assembly with pulley.

    2. Remove the O-ring from the No. 1 cooler refrigerant suction hose.

      Note

      Seal the openings of the disconnected parts using vinyl tape to prevent entry of moisture and foreign matter.

  9. DISCONNECT NO. 1 COOLER REFRIGERANT DISCHARGE HOSE


    1. w/ No. 2 Air Conditioning Tube:

        Remove the bolt and disconnect the No. 1 cooler refrigerant discharge hose from the compressor assembly with pulley.

    2. w/o No. 2 Air Conditioning Tube:


      1. A01CG7O

        Remove the bolt and disconnect the No. 1 cooler refrigerant discharge hose from the compressor assembly with pulley.

    3. Remove the O-ring from the No. 1 cooler refrigerant discharge hose.

      Note

      Seal the openings of the disconnected parts using vinyl tape to prevent entry of moisture and foreign matter.

  10. REMOVE COMPRESSOR ASSEMBLY WITH PULLEY (w/ No. 2 Air Conditioning Tube)

      Remove the bolt and bracket.

    2. Disconnect the connector.

    3. A01CFE4

      Remove the 3 bolts and nut.

    4. A01CDRS

      Using a "TORX" socket wrench (E8), remove the stud bolt and compressor assembly with pulley.

  11. REMOVE COMPRESSOR ASSEMBLY WITH PULLEY (w/o No. 2 Air Conditioning Tube)


    1. A01CBW7

      Disconnect the connector.

    2. Disengage the clamp.

    3. A01CFE4

      Remove the 3 bolts and nut.

    4. A01CDRS

      Using a "TORX" socket wrench (E8), remove the stud bolt and compressor assembly with pulley.

  12. REMOVE COOLER COMPRESSOR BRACKET (w/o No. 2 Air Conditioning Tube)

      Disconnect the connector.

    2. Remove the 2 bolts and cooler compressor bracket.
