RECOVER REFRIGERANT FROM REFRIGERATION SYSTEM
Start up the engine.
Turn the A/C switch on.
Operate the cooler compressor at an engine speed of approximately 1000 rpm for 5 to 6 minutes to circulate the refrigerant. This causes most of the compressor oil from the various components of the A/C system to collect in the A/C compressor.
Stop the engine.
Recover the refrigerant from the A/C system using a refrigerant recovery unit.
REMOVE FRONT WHEEL RH
REMOVE REAR ENGINE UNDER COVER RH
REMOVE RADIATOR COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY
Using a clip remover, remove the 4 clips and radiator cover sub-assembly.
SEPARATE RADIATOR RESERVE TANK ASSEMBLY
Disconnect the wire clamp.
Disconnect the No. 1 and No. 2 water by-pass hoses.
Remove the bolt and radiator reserve tank assembly.
REMOVE RADIATOR RESERVE TANK BRACKET
Remove the 2 bolts and radiator reserve tank bracket.
REMOVE V-RIBBED BELT
Using SST, slowly turn the V-ribbed belt tensioner clockwise.
Remove the V-ribbed belt from each pulley and slowly return the tensioner.
Note
Make sure that SST and other tools are set to the tensioner securely.
When compressing the V-ribbed belt tensioner, slowly turn the tensioner.
Be careful not to pinch your fingers between the parts.
DISCONNECT NO. 1 COOLER REFRIGERANT SUCTION HOSE
Remove the bolt and disconnect the No. 1 cooler refrigerant suction hose from the compressor assembly with pulley.
Remove the O-ring from the No. 1 cooler refrigerant suction hose.
Note
Seal the openings of the disconnected parts using vinyl tape to prevent entry of moisture and foreign matter.
DISCONNECT NO. 1 COOLER REFRIGERANT DISCHARGE HOSE
w/ No. 2 Air Conditioning Tube:
Remove the bolt and disconnect the No. 1 cooler refrigerant discharge hose from the compressor assembly with pulley.
w/o No. 2 Air Conditioning Tube:
Remove the bolt and disconnect the No. 1 cooler refrigerant discharge hose from the compressor assembly with pulley.
Remove the O-ring from the No. 1 cooler refrigerant discharge hose.
Note
Seal the openings of the disconnected parts using vinyl tape to prevent entry of moisture and foreign matter.
REMOVE COMPRESSOR ASSEMBLY WITH PULLEY (w/ No. 2 Air Conditioning Tube)
Remove the bolt and bracket.
Disconnect the connector.
Remove the 3 bolts and nut.
Using a "TORX" socket wrench (E8), remove the stud bolt and compressor assembly with pulley.
REMOVE COMPRESSOR ASSEMBLY WITH PULLEY (w/o No. 2 Air Conditioning Tube)
Disconnect the connector.
Disengage the clamp.
Remove the 3 bolts and nut.
Using a "TORX" socket wrench (E8), remove the stud bolt and compressor assembly with pulley.
REMOVE COOLER COMPRESSOR BRACKET (w/o No. 2 Air Conditioning Tube)
Disconnect the connector.
Remove the 2 bolts and cooler compressor bracket.
