FRONT AIR CONDITIONING UNIT REMOVAL

Note

Make sure to select FACE mode before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.


  1. RECOVER REFRIGERANT FROM REFRIGERATION SYSTEM


    1. Start up the engine.

    2. Turn the A/C switch on.

    3. Operate the cooler compressor at an engine speed of approximately 1000 rpm for 5 to 6 minutes to circulate the refrigerant. This causes most of the compressor oil from the various components of the A/C system to collect in the A/C compressor.

    4. Stop the engine.

    5. Recover the refrigerant from the A/C system using a refrigerant recovery unit.

  2. DISCONNECT HEATER WATER INLET HOSE A

      Using pliers, grip the claws of the clip and slide the clip to disconnect the heater water inlet hose A.

      Note


      • Do not apply excessive force to the heater water inlet hose A.

      • Prepare a drain pan or cloth in case the coolant leaks.

  3. DISCONNECT HEATER WATER OUTLET HOSE A

      Using pliers, grip the claws of the clip and slide the clip to disconnect the heater water outlet hose A.

      Note


      • Do not apply excessive force to the heater water outlet hose A.

      • Prepare a drain pan or cloth in case the coolant leaks.

  4. DISCONNECT NO. 1 AIR CONDITIONING TUBE AND ACCESSORY ASSEMBLY

      Remove the bolt, and slide the hook connector.

    2. Disconnect the No. 1 air conditioning tube and accessory assembly.

    3. Remove the O-ring from the No. 1 air conditioning tube and accessory assembly.

      Note

      Seal the openings of the disconnected parts using vinyl tape to prevent entry of moisture and foreign matter.

  5. DISCONNECT NO. 2 AIR CONDITIONING TUBE AND ACCESSORY ASSEMBLY


    1. Disconnect the No. 2 air conditioning tube and accessory assembly.

    2. Remove the O-ring from the No. 2 air conditioning tube and accessory assembly.

      Note

      Seal the openings of the disconnected parts using vinyl tape to prevent entry of moisture and foreign matter.

  6. REMOVE FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY (for Manual Seat Type RH Side)

    1. Turn back the floor carpet.

      Remove the front floor mat pad.

  13. REMOVE DASH PANEL INSULATOR PAD RH

      Remove the dash panel insulator pad RH.

  14. REMOVE DASH PANEL INSULATOR PAD LH

      Remove the dash panel insulator pad LH.

  15. REMOVE REAR NO. 2 AIR DUCT

      Remove the clip.

    2. Disengage the 2 claws and remove the rear No. 2 air duct.

  16. REMOVE REAR NO. 1 AIR DUCT

      Disengage the 2 claws and remove the rear No. 1 air duct.

  17. REMOVE REAR NO. 4 AIR DUCT

      Remove the clip.

    2. Disengage the 2 claws and remove the rear No. 4 air duct.

  18. REMOVE REAR NO. 3 AIR DUCT

      Disengage the 2 claws and remove the rear No. 3 air duct.

  19. REMOVE AIR CONDITIONING AMPLIFIER ASSEMBLY


    1. A01CCVP

      Disengage the clamp.

    2. Disconnect each connector.

    3. Remove the 2 screws and the air conditioning amplifier assembly.

  20. REMOVE WINDSHIELD WIPER RELAY ASSEMBLY (for RHD)


    1. A01CCWCE01

      Disconnect the connector.

    2. Remove the bolt and windshield wiper relay assembly.

  21. REMOVE WINDSHIELD WIPER RELAY ASSEMBLY (for LHD)


    1. A01CE0L

      Disconnect the connector.

    2. Remove the bolt and windshield wiper relay assembly.

  22. REMOVE CLEARANCE WARNING BUZZER (for RHD)


    1. A01CCDH

      Disconnect the connector.

    2. Disengage the clamp and remove the clearance warning buzzer.

  23. REMOVE CLEARANCE WARNING BUZZER (for LHD)

      Disconnect the connector.

    2. Disengage the clamp and remove the clearance warning buzzer.

  24. REMOVE ANTENNA CORD SUB-ASSEMBLY (for RHD)


    1. Disconnect the 2 connectors and remove the bolt.

    2. Disengage the 9 clamps and remove the antenna cord sub-assembly.

  25. REMOVE ANTENNA CORD SUB-ASSEMBLY (for LHD)


    1. w/o Front Center Speaker:


      1. Disconnect the 2 connectors and remove the bolt.

      2. Disengage the 8 clamps and remove the antenna cord sub-assembly.

    2. w/ Front Center Speaker:


      1. Disconnect the connector and remove the bolt.

      2. Disengage the 7 clamps and remove the antenna cord sub-assembly.

  26. REMOVE NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL TO COWL BRACE


    1. A01CEEW

      Remove the bolt.

    2. Remove the nut and the No. 2 instrument panel to cowl brace.

  27. REMOVE NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL BRACE SUB-ASSEMBLY


    1. Disconnect the connector.

    2. Remove the 2 bolts and disconnect the 2 earth wires.

    3. Remove the 2 nuts.

    4. Disengage each clamp.

    5. Remove the clip.

    6. Remove the bolt and disconnect the earth wire.

    7. Disengage each clamp.

    8. Remove the 2 screws.

    9. Remove the 3 bolts.

    10. Remove the 2 nuts and the No. 1 instrument panel brace sub-assembly.

  28. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL REINFORCEMENT


    1. Disengage the clamp.

    2. Remove the 2 bolts and 3 nuts, and disengage the 2 junction blocks.

    3. Remove the 11 bolts and the instrument panel reinforcement.

  29. REMOVE AIR CONDITIONING UNIT


    1. Disengage each clamp.

    2. Disconnect the connector.

    3. Disconnect the cooler drain hose.

    4. Remove the nut and the air conditioning unit.

      Note

      Be sure to support the air conditioning unit when removing it because failure to do so may cause the bracket to be damaged.
