SEAT HEATER SWITCH INSPECTION


  1. INSPECT SEAT HEATER SWITCH LH

      Component without harness connected

      (Seat Heater Switch LH)

      Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      3 (IG) - 4 (LO) "LO" switch off 10 kΩ or higher
      3 (IG) - 4 (LO) "LO" switch on Below 1 Ω
      3 (IG) - 2 (HI) "HI" switch off 10 kΩ or higher
      3 (IG) - 2 (HI) "HI" switch on Below 1 Ω

      If the result is not as specified, replace the seat heater switch.

    2. Turn the seat heater switch on and check if the seat heater switch indicator comes on.

      OK
      Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition

      Battery positive (+) → 3 (IG)

      Battery negative (-) → 8 (E)

      		 "HI" switch on Comes on

      Battery positive (+) → 3 (IG)

      Battery negative (-) → 8 (E)

      		 "LO" switch on Comes on

      If the result is not as specified, replace the seat heater switch.

    3. Check if the seat heater switch comes on.

      OK
      Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition

      Battery positive (+) → 7 (ILL+)

      Battery negative (-) → 6 (ILL-)

      		 Always Comes on

      If the result is not as specified, replace the seat heater switch.

      Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      3 (IG) - 4 (LO) "LO" switch off 10 kΩ or higher
      3 (IG) - 4 (LO) "LO" switch on Below 1 Ω
      3 (IG) - 2 (HI) "HI" switch off 10 kΩ or higher
      3 (IG) - 2 (HI) "HI" switch on Below 1 Ω

      If the result is not as specified, replace the seat heater switch.

    2. Turn the seat heater switch on and check if the seat heater switch indicator comes on.

      OK
      Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition

      Battery positive (+) → 3 (IG)

      Battery negative (-) → 10 (E)

      		 "HI" switch on Comes on

      Battery positive (+) → 3 (IG)

      Battery negative (-) → 10 (E)

      		 "LO" switch on Comes on

      If the result is not as specified, replace the seat heater switch.

    3. Check if the seat heater switch comes on.

      OK
      Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition

      Battery positive (+) → 8 (ILL+)

      Battery negative (-) → 6 (ILL-)

      		 Always Comes on

      If the result is not as specified, replace the seat heater switch.
