CHECK POWER SEAT FUNCTION
Check the basic functions.
Operate the switches of the position control ECU and switch assembly and check to make sure that each seat function works:
Sliding function
Front vertical function
Lifter function
Reclining function
CHECK POWER SEAT MOTOR ASSEMBLY (SLIDING, FRONT VERTICAL, LIFTER AND RECLINING FUNCTIONS)
Check the PTC operation inside the power seat motor.
The resistance of the PTC thermistor increases when a switch of the position control ECU and switch assembly is held down even after the seat has been moved to the farthest possible position in one direction. If the resistance increases beyond a specified level, the current is shut off to prevent a short circuit.
The inspection should be performed with the seat installed in the vehicle.
Perform the 4 steps below to check the full range of motion for each power seat function.
Choose a power seat function. Operate a switch of the position control ECU and switch assembly and move the seat to the farthest possible position in one direction. Keep the seat in that position for approximately 60 seconds.
Operate the switch the position of control ECU and switch assembly again and continue to try to move the seat in the same direction as in the previous step. Measure the time until the current is shut off (motor operation sound will stop).
| Standard |

| 4 to 90 seconds |
After the current is shut off, release the switch of the position control ECU and switch assembly and wait for approximately 60 seconds.
Operate the same switch of the position control ECU and switch assembly and move the seat in the opposite direction. Check that the motor operates.
CHECK POWER SEAT POWER EASY ACCESS SYSTEM
When troubleshooting a function, first make sure that the function is set to the default setting.
Away function
Turn the engine switch off and move the shift lever to P.
Disengage the seatbelt tongue plate from the buckle.
Make sure that the seat slides rearwards.
Return function
Turn the engine switch on (ACC or IG) or engage the seatbelt tongue plate to the buckle.
Make sure that the seat slides forward.
CHECK MEMORY AND SEAT RESTORING OPERATION
The seat position will not be stored if the SET switch and 2 or more of the seat memory switches (for example, M1 switch and M2 switch) are pressed simultaneously.
Turn the engine switch on (IG) and move the shift lever to P.
Move the seat to the foremost and uppermost position using the switches of the position control ECU and switch assembly.
Check that the buzzer sounds for 0.5 seconds and the seat position is memorized when the M1 switch is pressed while the SET switch is being pressed.
Move the seat from the foremost and uppermost position using the switches of the position control ECU and switch assembly.
Check that the buzzer sounds for 0.5 seconds and the seat position is memorized when the M2 switch is pressed while the SET switch is being pressed.
Move the seat to the rearmost and lowermost position using the switches of the position control ECU and switch assembly.
Check that the buzzer sounds for 0.5 seconds and the seat position is memorized when the M3 switch is pressed while the SET switch is being pressed.
Check that the buzzer sounds for 0.1 seconds and the seat automatically moves to the foremost and uppermost position (memorized position) when the M1 seat memory switch is pressed.
Check that the buzzer sounds for 0.1 seconds and the seat automatically moves out of the foremost and uppermost position (memorized position) when M2 seat memory switch is pressed.
Check that the buzzer sounds for 0.1 seconds and the seat automatically moves to the rearmost and lowermost position (memorized position) when the M3 seat memory switch is pressed.
Turn the engine switch off and open the driver door. Check that the buzzer sounds for 0.1 seconds and the seat automatically moves to the memorized position by pressing the M1, M2 or M3 switch within 27 to 33 seconds after the engine switch is turned off.
Check that performing the following procedures clears the seat positions memorized in the M1 switch, M2 switch or M3 switch: slide the seat fully forward or rearward; hold the M1 switch, M2 switch or M3 switch; disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal; release the M1 switch, M2 switch, or M3 switch; and wait for 3 minutes.
CHECK MEMORY CALL FUNCTION
Automatic memory call function (automatic wireless memory call function)
With a transmitter key recognition code registered:
Perform a wireless door unlock operation and check that opening the driver side door causes: 1) the buzzer to sound for 0.1 seconds, and 2) the driver's seat and outer mirror (RH and LH) to move automatically to the stored positions.
The registered transmitter key recognition code is recalled automatically.
If the front seats are not operated, the buzzer will not sound.
Memory registration (transmitter key recognition code registration)
With the engine switch off and the driver side door closed, press and hold the M1 switch, M2 switch or M3 switch. The position control ECU and switch assembly will enter transmitter key recognition code registration mode to allow a key to be linked to a seat memory position.
When the transmitter lock or unlock switch is pressed, check that the buzzer of the position control ECU and switch assembly sounds once (0.5 seconds).
Memory deletion (transmitter key recognition code memory deletion)
With the engine switch off and the driver side door closed, press and hold the SET switch. The position control ECU and switch assembly will enter transmitter key recognition code deletion mode.
When the transmitter lock or unlock switch is pressed, check that the buzzer of the position control ECU and switch assembly sounds twice (0.1 seconds each time).
MEMORY CALL EMERGENCY STOP FUNCTION
While a memory call function is operating, check that performing one of the following will stop the memory call operation: 1) press the SET switch, M1 switch, M2 switch or M3 switch, or 2) press the position control ECU and switch assembly.
