FRONT POWER SEAT CONTROL SYSTEM (for Driver Side) SYSTEM DESCRIPTION

  1. FRONT POWER SEAT CONTROL SYSTEM DESCRIPTION

    • The driver seat is equipped with slide, reclining, lifter and front vertical adjustment functions.

    • The memory call function uses the key ID code of the key to memorize and reproduce the appropriate driving position for each individual who possesses a master key or sub key.

  2. FUNCTION OF MAIN COMPONENT

    Component Function
Seat slide motor Receives signal from the position control ECU and switch assembly, and slides the seat forward and rearward.
Seat reclining motor Receives signal from the position control ECU and switch assembly, and tilts the seatback forward and rearward.
Seat front vertical motor Receives signal from the position control ECU and switch and assembly, and raises and lowers the front of the seat cushion.
Seat lifter motor Receives signal from the position control ECU and switch assembly, and raises and lowers the seat cushion.
Seat position sensor Built into each seat adjuster and sends position data to the position control ECU and switch assembly and switch so that it can detect seat positions at all time.
Seat control switch Based on the switch operation, seat adjuster signals are input to the position control ECU and switch assembly to adjust the seat accordingly.
    Seat memory switch

When the seat memory SET switch and a seat memory switch are pressed simultaneously, signal is input to the outer mirror control ECU assembly and the seat position is recorded.

Pressing the seat memory switch sends signal to the outer mirror control ECU assembly to move the seat to the memorized position.

  3. SYSTEM OPERATION

The front power seat functions which can be adjusted with the power seat motors and memorized are shown below.

    • Sliding Function

    • Reclining Function

    • Front Vertical Function

    • Lifter Function

Signals from the seat memory switches are transferred from the outer mirror control ECU assembly to the position control ECU and switch assembly via the CAN communication system. Then, either the seat position is stored in memory or a previously stored seat position is recalled.
