DESCRIPTION

The engine hood courtesy switch is installed together with the hood lock assembly. This switch turns off when the engine hood is opened and turns on when the engine hood is closed.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE


  1. READ VALUE USING INTELLIGENT TESTER


    1. Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the engine switch on (IG).

    3. Turn the intelligent tester on.

    4. Enter the following menus: Body / Entry&Start / Data List.

    5. According to the display on the intelligent tester, read the Data List.

      ON: Engine hood closed

      OFF: Engine hood open

      ON or OFF appears on the tester screen according to the engine hood courtesy switch condition.

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (ENGINE HOOD COURTESY SWITCH - BODY GROUND, CERTIFICATION ECU)


    1. Disconnect the B20 engine hood courtesy switch connector.

    2. Disconnect the G78 certification ECU (smart key ECU assembly) connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      B20-2 - G78-24 (HSW) Always Below 1 Ω
      B20-2 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      B20-1 - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

  3. INSPECT ENGINE HOOD COURTESY SWITCH

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
