B2288 Steering Lock Signal Circuit Malfunction

DESCRIPTION

This DTC is stored when the main body ECU cannot detect the unlock condition of the steering lock within a specified time.

Tech Tips

When the main body ECU is replaced with a new one and the negative (-) battery terminal is connected, the power source mode becomes IG-ON mode. When the battery is removed and reinstalled, the power source mode that was selected when the battery was removed is restored.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE


  1. PERFORM INITIALIZATION (STEERING LOCK SYSTEM)


    1. Move the shift lever to P.

    2. Turn the engine switch off.

    3. Open the driver door.

    4. Close the driver door.

  2. CHECK FOR DTC


    1. Clear the DTCs Click here.

    2. Check if the trouble occurs again 18 to 22 seconds after the engine switch is turned on (IG).

  3. CHECK FOR DTC


    1. Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the engine switch on (IG).

    3. Turn the intelligent tester on.

    4. Check if steering lock system DTCs are output.

      OK
      Steering lock system DTCs are not output.

  4. CHECK STEERING LOCK ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY (STEERING LOCK ECU)


    1. Check if the steering lock is released when turning the engine switch on (ACC).

      OK
      The steering lock is released.

  5. READ VALUE USING INTELLIGENT TESTER


    1. Enter the following menus: Body / Main Body / Data List.

    2. Read the Data List according to the display on the intelligent tester.

      Tech Tips

      When using the intelligent tester with the engine switch off, turn on and off any of the door courtesy light switches repeatedly at 1.5 second intervals or less until communication between the intelligent tester and vehicle starts.
