This DTC is output when there is an open, short or ECU communication malfunction between the main body ECU and certification ECU (smart key ECU assembly).

Note

If the certification ECU (smart key ECU assembly) is replaced, register the key.
When using the intelligent tester to troubleshoot with the engine switch off:

Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3, and turn the courtesy switch on and off at 1.5-second intervals until communication between the tester and vehicle begins.

Recheck for DTCs.

Check the both Entry & Start and Main Body DTCs.

CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (CERTIFICATION ECU - MAIN BODY ECU)

Disconnect the 4A ECU connector.

Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance

Tester Connection	Condition	Specified Condition
G20-10 (LIN) - 4A-20 (LIN1)	Always	Below 1 Ω
G20-10 (LIN) - Body ground	Always	10 kΩ or higher
