INSPECTION PROCEDURE

  1. CONFIRM MODEL


    1. Choose the model to be inspected.

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (NAVIGATION ECU SUB-ASSEMBLY - TELEPHONE MICROPHONE ASSEMBLY)


    1. Disconnect the F23 navigation ECU sub-assembly connector.

    2. Disconnect the R22 telephone microphone assembly connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      F23-29 (MACC) - R22-1 (MACC) Always Below 1 Ω
      F23-27 (MIN+) - R22-2 (MIC+) Always Below 1 Ω
      F23-48 (MIN-) - R22-4 (MIC-) Always Below 1 Ω
      F23-49 (SNS2) - R22-3 (SNSE) Always Below 1 Ω
      F23-29 (MACC) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      F23-27 (MIN+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      F23-48 (MIN-) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      F23-28 (SGND) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      F23-49 (SNS2) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

  3. INSPECT NAVIGATION ECU SUB-ASSEMBLY


    1. Reconnect the F23 navigation ECU sub-assembly connector.

    2. Reconnect the R22 telephone microphone assembly connector.

      Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      F23-29 (MACC) - Body ground Engine switch on (ACC) 4 to 6 V
    4. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      F23-28 (SGND) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
      F23-48 (MIN-) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
    5. Proceed to the next step based on the inspection result.

    1. Disconnect the F36 navigation ECU sub-assembly connector.

    2. Disconnect the R22 telephone microphone assembly connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      F36-6 (SNS2) - R22-3 (SNSE) Always Below 1 Ω
      F36-4 (MACC) - R22-1 (MACC) Always Below 1 Ω
      F36-5 (MIN+) - R22-2 (MIC+) Always Below 1 Ω
      F36-19 (MIN-) - R22-4 (MIC-) Always Below 1 Ω
      F36-6 (SNS2) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      F36-4 (MACC) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      F36-5 (MIN+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      F36-19 (MIN-) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

  5. INSPECT NAVIGATION ECU SUB-ASSEMBLY


    1. Reconnect the F36 navigation ECU sub-assembly connector.

    2. Reconnect the R22 telephone microphone assembly connector.

  7. INSPECT TELEPHONE MICROPHONE ASSEMBLY


    1. Reconnect the F23 navigation ECU sub-assembly connector (w/ Front Center Speaker).

    2. Reconnect the F36 navigation ECU sub-assembly connector (w/o Front Center Speaker).

      (Telephone Microphone Assembly)

      Reconnect the R22 telephone microphone assembly connector.

    4. Turn the engine switch on (ACC).

    5. Connect an oscilloscope to terminals 2 (MIC+) and 4 (MIC-) of the R22 telephone microphone assembly connector.

    6. Check the waveform of the telephone microphone assembly using the oscilloscope.
