REAR SEAT ENTERTAINMENT SYSTEM (w/ Front Center Speaker) SYSTEM DESCRIPTION


  1. OUTLINE


    • The Rear Seat Entertainment (RSE) system has the following modes: A mode that allows the front and rear seat occupants to select same audio-visual mode, and a mode that allows the front and rear seat occupants to select different audio-visual modes at the same time (independent mode).

    • The display portion of the television display assembly can be opened/closed or tilted using the remote controller.

    • The rear seat occupants can control the audio-visual modes with the remote controller and listen to the audio using wireless headphones.

    • The RSE system is controlled by the television display assembly, and the communication between the navigation ECU sub-assembly and the television display assembly is established via an MOST communication line.

  2. FUNCTION OF MAIN COMPONENT

    Component Function
    Television Display Assembly
    • Displays DVD and video images in accordance with video signals from the navigation ECU sub-assembly.

    • Receives signals from the remote controller.

    • Outputs audio signals to the wireless headphones in the form of infrared signals.

    • Displays the audio-visual control screen.

    • Displays the adjustment screen.

    • Displays the diagnosis screen. The diagnosis screen appears when diagnosis mode is started on the navigation ECU sub-assembly.

    Navigation ECU Sub-assembly
    • Turns the RSE system on/off.

    • Sends video signals to the television display assembly.

    • Limits/cancels the use of the remote controller.

    • Independent mode can be set on the screen.

    Remote Controller
    • Turns the RSE system on/off.

    • Outputs various control signals of the RSE system to the television display assembly in the form of infrared signals.
