STEERING COLUMN ASSEMBLY INSPECTION


  1. INSPECT PRELOAD


    1. A01CG45E01

      Using SST, turn the main shaft and measure the preload.

      SST
      09616-00011
      Torque:
      Preload
      0.8 to 1.2 N*m  { 9 to 12 kgf*cm, 8 to 10 in.*lbf }

      If the preload is not as specified, replace the steering column assembly.

  2. INSPECT POWER STEERING MOTOR ASSEMBLY


    1. Inspect the motor rotation angle sensor.

        Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

        Standard Resistance
        Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
        z14-6 (RZSN) - z14-3 (RZG) Always 75.2 to 112.8 Ω
        z14-1 (RZV) - z14-3 (RZG) Always 27.6 to 41.4 Ω
        z14-5 (RZCS) - z14-3 (RZG) Always 73.2 to 110.8 Ω

        If the resistance is not within the specified range, replace the power steering motor assembly.
