INSPECTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE


  1. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR


    1. Disconnect the connectors from the radio receiver assembly, radio setting condenser and speakers.

    2. Measure the resistance between each of the front No. 1 speakers and the radio receiver assembly to check for an open circuit in the wire harness.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      F3-1 (FR+) - I1-1 Always Below 1 Ω
      F3-5 (FR-) - I1-2 Always Below 1 Ω
      F3-2 (FL+) - J1-1 Always Below 1 Ω
      F3-6 (FL-) - J1-2 Always Below 1 Ω
    3. Measure the resistance between each of the front No. 2 speakers and the radio receiver assembly to check for an open circuit in the wire harness.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      F3-1 (FR+) - H2-2 Always Below 1 Ω
      F3-5 (FR-) - H2-4 Always Below 1 Ω
      F3-2 (FL+) - H3-2 Always Below 1 Ω
      F3-6 (FL-) - H3-4 Always Below 1 Ω
    4. Measure the resistance between the radio receiver assembly and radio setting condenser to check for an open circuit in the wire harness.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      F4-1 (RR+) - F7-12 (RIN) Always Below 1 Ω
      F4-3 (RR-) - F7-11 (ROUT) Always Below 1 Ω
      F4-2 (RL+) - F7-6 (LIN) Always Below 1 Ω
      F4-6 (RL-) - F7-7 (LOUT) Always Below 1 Ω
    5. Measure the resistance between each of the rear No. 1 with box speakers and the radio setting condenser to check for an open circuit in the wire harness.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      K10-1 - F7-4 (RO+) Always Below 1 Ω
      K10-2 - F7-9 (RO-) Always Below 1 Ω
      L10-1 - F7-2 (LO+) Always Below 1 Ω
      L10-2 - F7-3 (LO-) Always Below 1 Ω
    6. Measure the resistance between each of the roof speakers and the radio setting condenser to check for an open circuit in the wire harness.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      R4-1 - F7-5 (RI+) Always Below 1 Ω
      R4-2 - F7-10 (RI-) Always Below 1 Ω
      R3-1 - F7-1 (LI+) Always Below 1 Ω
      R3-2 - F7-8 (LI-) Always Below 1 Ω
    7. Measure the resistance between each speaker or the radio receiver assembly and body ground to check for a short circuit in the wire harness.

      Standard Resistance

      F3-1 (FR+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      F3-5 (FR-) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      F3-2 (FL+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      F3-6 (FL-) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      F4-1 (RR+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      F4-3 (RR-) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      F4-2 (RL+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      F4-6 (RL-) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      K10-1 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

  3. REPLACE FRONT NO. 2 SPEAKER


    1. Check that the malfunction disappears when a known good speaker is installed Click here.

      OK
      Malfunction disappears.

      Tech Tips


      • Connect all the connectors to the front No. 2 speakers that were disconnected.

      • When there is a possibility that either the right or left front speaker is defective, inspect by interchanging the right one with the left one.

      • Perform the above inspection on both LH and RH sides.

  4. INSPECT REAR NO. 1 WITH BOX SPEAKER
