The motor rotation angle sensor detects the motor rotation angle and sends this information to the power steering ECU.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

Note

If the power steering ECU and power steering motor assembly has been replaced, perform the rotation angle sensor initialization and torque sensor zero point calibration Click here.

PROCEDURE


  1. CHECK CONNECTOR CONNECTION CONDITION


    1. Check the installation condition of the motor rotation angle sensor connector.

      OK
      Motor rotation angle sensor connector is securely connected to the power steering ECU.

    NG
    OK
  2. READ VALUE USING INTELLIGENT TESTER (MOTOR ROTATION ANGLE SENSOR)


    1. Turn the engine switch off.

    2. Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.

    3. Turn the engine switch on (IG).

    4. Turn the intelligent tester on.

    5. Enter the following menus: Chassis / EMPS / Data List.

    6. Select the item "Motor Rotate" in the Data List and read the value displayed on the intelligent tester.

  3. CHECK POWER STEERING MOTOR ASSEMBLY


    1. A01CF97E02

      Disconnect the connector from the motor rotation angle sensor.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
