Remove the outer cowl top panel as shown in the illustration.
REMOVE V-BANK COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY (for 2GR-FE LHD)
Hold the front of the V-bank cover sub-assembly and raise it to disengage the 2 clips on the front of the cover. Continue to raise the cover to disengage the clip on the rear of the cover and remove the V-bank cover sub-assembly.
Note
Attempting to disengage both front and rear clips at the same time may cause the cover to break.
REMOVE AIR CLEANER CAP SUB-ASSEMBLY (for 2GR-FE LHD)
Separate the mass air flow meter connector and 2 wire harness clamps.
Separate the purge line hose.
Separate the ventilation hose.
Loosen the hose clamp and separate the air cleaner hose from the throttle body.
Release the 2 clamps and remove the air cleaner cap sub-assembly.
REMOVE AIR CLEANER CAP SUB-ASSEMBLY WITH HOSE (for 2AZ-FE LHD)

| *1 | O-ring | *2 | Piston |
Note
Do not try to pull out the piston. Do not hold the brake master cylinder sub-assembly by the piston because the piston is easy to separate from the brake master cylinder sub-assembly. If the piston is separated from the brake master cylinder sub-assembly, replace the brake master cylinder sub-assembly with a new one because the master cylinder may not function properly.
Do not damage the piston of the brake master cylinder sub-assembly by applying force to the piston or by holding the piston in a vise.
Do not tilt the piston end of the brake master cylinder sub-assembly downward.
Do not allow any foreign matter to adhere to the piston of the brake master cylinder sub-assembly. If any foreign matter adheres to the piston, remove it using a piece of cloth and apply lithium soap base glycol grease to the contact surface of the piston.
Do not use any grease other than that specified.
Remove the O-ring from the brake master cylinder sub-assembly.
Move the clamp and disconnect the reservoir hose from the brake master cylinder sub-assembly.
