REAR BRAKE INSTALLATION


  1. INSTALL REAR DISC


    1. A01CAYYE01

      Align the matchmarks of the rear disc and axle hub, and install the rear disc.

      Note

      When installing a new rear disc, select the installation position where the rear disc has minimal runout.

  2. INSTALL PARKING BRAKE SHOE ADJUSTING HOLE PLUG

  3. INSTALL REAR DISC BRAKE CYLINDER MOUNTING


    1. A01CESC

      Install the rear disc brake cylinder mounting with the 2 bolts.

      Torque:
      88 N*m  { 900 kgf*cm, 65 ft.*lbf }

  4. INSTALL REAR DISC BRAKE PAD SUPPORT PLATE


    1. Install the 4 rear disc brake pad support plates to the rear disc brake cylinder mounting.

      Note

      Check the identification marks put on at removal, and be sure to install the plates in the correct position and direction.

  5. INSTALL REAR DISC BRAKE BUSH DUST BOOT


    1. A01CCVCE01

      Apply a light layer of lithium soap base glycol grease to the entire circumference of 2 new rear disc brake bush dust boots as shown in the illustration.

    2. A01CBWZ

      Install the 2 rear disc brake bush dust boots to the rear disc brake cylinder mounting.

  6. INSTALL REAR DISC BRAKE CYLINDER SLIDE PIN


    1. A01CG0WE01

      Apply a light layer of lithium soap base glycol grease to the entire circumference of the rear disc brake cylinder slide pin as shown in the illustration.

    2. A01CGHD

      Install the rear disc brake cylinder slide pin to the rear disc brake cylinder mounting.

    3. Push the rear disc brake cylinder slide pin into the rear disc brake bush dust boot to align them.

  7. INSTALL REAR DISC BRAKE CYLINDER SLIDE BUSH


    1. A01CDDLE01

      Apply a light layer of lithium soap base glycol grease to the contact surfaces of a new rear disc brake cylinder slide bush and the No. 1 rear disc brake cylinder slide pin.

    2. Install the rear disc brake cylinder slide bush to the No. 1 rear disc brake cylinder slide pin.

  8. INSTALL NO. 1 REAR DISC BRAKE CYLINDER SLIDE PIN


    1. A01CCK1E01

      Apply a light layer of lithium soap base glycol grease to the entire circumference of the No. 1 rear disc brake cylinder slide pin as shown in the illustration.

    2. A01CE87

      Install the No. 1 rear disc brake cylinder slide pin to the rear disc brake cylinder mounting.

    3. Push the No. 1 rear disc brake cylinder slide pin into the rear disc brake bush dust boot to align them.

  9. INSTALL REAR DISC BRAKE PAD

      Install the 2 rear disc brake pads to the rear disc brake cylinder mounting.

      Note


      • Make sure to install the rear disc brake pads with the pad wear indicator to the inner side of the vehicle.

      • There should be no oil or grease on the friction surfaces of the rear disc brake pads or the rear disc.

  10. INSTALL REAR DISC BRAKE CYLINDER ASSEMBLY


    1. A01CDGC

      Using a socket wrench (13 mm), install the rear disc brake cylinder assembly with the 2 bolts

      Torque:
      32 N*m  { 321 kgf*cm, 23 ft.*lbf }

  11. CONNECT REAR FLEXIBLE HOSE LH


    1. A01CFJP

      Connect the rear flexible hose LH to the rear disc brake cylinder assembly with a new union bolt and a new gasket.

      Torque:
      29 N*m  { 300 kgf*cm, 22 ft.*lbf }

      Tech Tips

      Install the rear flexible hose lock securely into the lock hole in the rear disc brake cylinder assembly.

  12. BLEED BRAKE LINE

  14. INSTALL REAR WHEEL

    Torque:
    103 N*m  { 1050 kgf*cm, 76 ft.*lbf }
