TEMPORARILY TIGHTEN REAR DISC BRAKE BLEEDER PLUG
Tech Tips
Fully tighten the rear disc brake bleeder plug after bleeding any air left in the system.
INSTALL REAR DISC BRAKE BLEEDER PLUG CAP
INSTALL PISTON SEAL
Apply lithium soap base glycol grease to a new piston seal.
Install the piston seal to the rear disc brake cylinder assembly.
Note
Securely install the piston seal to the groove of the rear disc brake cylinder assembly.
INSTALL CYLINDER BOOT
Apply a light layer of lithium soap base glycol grease to the entire circumference of a new cylinder boot as shown in the illustration.
Using SST and a hammer, install a new cylinder boot to the rear disc brake cylinder assembly.
Note
Do not damage the cylinder boot.
Securely install the cylinder boot to the groove of the rear disc brake cylinder assembly.
INSTALL REAR DISC BRAKE PISTON
Apply a light layer of lithium soap base glycol grease to the entire circumference of the rear disc brake piston as shown in the illustration.
Pull out the inside of cylinder boot as shown in the illustration.
Note
Do not damage the piston or cylinder boot.
Insert the rear disc brake piston into the cylinder boot.
Note
Do not damage the piston or cylinder boot.
Install the rear disc brake piston to the rear disc brake cylinder assembly.
Note
Do not force the rear disc brake piston when installing it to the rear disc brake cylinder assembly.
Securely install the cylinder boot to the groove of the rear disc brake piston.
