INSPECT FRONT OIL PUMP AND GEAR BODY SUB-ASSEMBLY
Turn the drive gear with 2 screwdrivers and make sure that it rotates smoothly.
Note
Be careful not to damage the oil seal lip.
REMOVE STATOR SHAFT ASSEMBLY
Using a "TORX" wrench (T30), remove the 16 bolts and stator shaft assembly from the oil pump body.
Note
Keep the gears in the order of disassembly.
INSPECT CLEARANCE OF FRONT OIL PUMP AND GEAR BODY SUB-ASSEMBLY
Push the driven gear to one side of the body.
Using a feeler gauge, measure the clearance.

If the clearance is greater than the maximum, replace the oil pump body sub-assembly.
Using a straightedge and feeler gauge, measure the side clearance of both gears.

REMOVE FRONT OIL PUMP BODY O-RING
Remove the O-ring from the oil pump body.
REMOVE FRONT OIL PUMP DRIVE GEAR
Remove the front oil pump drive gear from the oil pump body.
REMOVE FRONT OIL PUMP DRIVEN GEAR
Remove the front oil pump driven gear from the oil pump body.
REMOVE FRONT OIL PUMP OIL SEAL
Mount the oil pump in a soft jaw vise.
Using SST, remove the oil seal from the oil pump body.
