EXHAUST PIPE INSTALLATION

  1. INSTALL NO. 2 OXYGEN SENSOR (for Bank 2)

    1. A01CBYSE01

      Using SST, install the No. 2 oxygen sensor to the front exhaust pipe assembly.

      SST
      09224-00010
      Torque:
      without SST
      44 N*m  { 449 kgf*cm, 32 ft.*lbf }
      with SST
      40 N*m  { 408 kgf*cm, 30 ft.*lbf }

      Note

      • The "with SST" torque value is effective when using SST with a fulcrum length of 30 mm (1.18 in.).

      • The "with SST" torque value is effective when using a torque wrench with a fulcrum length of 300 mm (11.81 in.) Click here.

      • The "with SST" torque value is effective when SST is parallel to the torque wrench.

  2. INSTALL FRONT EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY

    1. Install a new gasket to the front exhaust pipe assembly.

    2. A01CDM6

      Install the front exhaust pipe assembly with the 2 nuts.

      Torque:
      62 N*m  { 632 kgf*cm, 46 ft.*lbf }
    3. Install the No. 1 exhaust pipe support bracket with the 2 bolts.

      Torque:
      21 N*m  { 214 kgf*cm, 15 ft.*lbf }
    4. A01CD1Q

      Connect the No. 2 oxygen sensor connector (for Bank 2).

  3. INSTALL CENTER EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY (for Front Side)

    1. Install 2 new gaskets to the center exhaust pipe assembly (for Front Side).

    2. A01CBAD

      Install the center exhaust pipe assembly (for Front Side) with the 2 bolts and 2 nuts.

      Torque:
      Bolt
      43 N*m  { 440 kgf*cm, 32 ft.*lbf }
      Nut
      62 N*m  { 632 kgf*cm, 46 ft.*lbf }
  4. INSTALL OXYGEN SENSOR (for Bank 1)

  5. INSTALL EXHAUST FORKED PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY

    1. A01CBMY

      Using a vernier caliper, measure the free length of the compression springs.

      Minimum 41.5 mm (1.64 in.)

      Tech Tips

      If the free length is less than minimum, replace the compression spring.

    2. Fully insert a new gasket to the center exhaust pipe assembly (for Front Side).

      *1 Center Exhaust Pipe Assembly (for Front Side)
      *2 Gasket
      *3 Wooden Block

      Using a plastic hammer and wooden block, tap in the new gasket until its surface is flush with the center exhaust pipe assembly (for Front Side).

      Note

      • Be careful with the installation direction of the gasket.

      • Do not reuse the gasket.

      • Do not damage the gasket.

      • Do not push in the gasket by using the exhaust pipe when connecting it.

    4. Connect the center exhaust pipe assembly (for Rear Side) to the 3 exhaust pipe supports.

    5. A01CB0B

      Install the center exhaust pipe assembly (for Rear Side) with the 2 bolts and 2 compression springs.

      Torque:
      43 N*m  { 440 kgf*cm, 32 ft.*lbf }

      Note

      After the installation, check that the gaps between the flanges of the center exhaust pipe assembly (for Front Side) and center exhaust pipe assembly (for Rear Side) are consistent front-to-rear and left-to-right.

  6. INSTALL TAIL EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY

    1. A01CBMY

      Using a vernier caliper, measure the free length of the compression springs.

      Minimum 38.5 mm (1.52 in.)

      Tech Tips

      If the free length is less than minimum, replace the compression spring.

    2. Fully insert a new gasket to the center exhaust pipe assembly (for Rear Side).
