THERMOSTAT REMOVAL


  1. REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE UNDER COVER

  2. REMOVE RADIATOR COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY

      Using a clip remover, remove the 4 clips and radiator cover sub-assembly.

  3. DRAIN ENGINE COOLANT

    CAUTION:

    Do not remove the reserve tank cap or radiator drain cock plug while the engine and radiator assembly are still hot. Pressurized, hot engine coolant and steam may be released and cause serious burns.

      *a Hose

      Connect a hose with an inside diameter of 9 mm (0.354 in.) to the radiator drain cock as shown in the illustration.

    2. Loosen the radiator drain cock plug.

    3. Remove the reserve tank cap. Then drain the engine coolant.

      Tech Tips

      Collect the engine coolant in a container and dispose of it according to the regulations in your area.

    4. Disconnect a hose with an inside diameter of 9 mm (0.354 in.) from the radiator drain cock.

  4. DISCONNECT OUTLET RADIATOR HOSE

      Disconnect the outlet radiator hose.

  5. REMOVE WATER INLET


    1. A01CGB3

      Remove the 2 nuts and water inlet from the cylinder block.

  6. REMOVE THERMOSTAT


    1. Remove the thermostat and gasket.
