METER / GAUGE SYSTEM OPERATION CHECK


  1. INSPECT INDICATOR/WARNING LIGHT


    1. Check the following indicators and warning lights.

      SEDIMENTER indicator light*2, *9, *10
      SPEED LIMIT indicator light*12
      PCS indicator light*13
      AFS OFF indicator light*14
      PPS warning light*1
      Master warning light*15
      SRS warning light Ignition switch OFF→ ON Comes on for 6 seconds
      CHARGE warning light Ignition switch OFF → ON

      • Illuminates when ignition switch turned to ON

      • Turns off when engine started
      OIL PRESSURE warning light

      • *15: for Optitron Meter

      • *16: for Manual Transmission

  2. INSPECT SPEEDOMETER


    1. Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.

    3. Turn the intelligent tester on.

    4. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / Data List.

      If the result is not as specified, the speedometer may have a malfunction.

      Note

      Do not use worn, underinflated or overinflated tires as the speedometer reading will be inaccurate.

    5. Check the deflection width of the speedometer indicator.

    6. INSPECT TACHOMETER


      1. Connect a tune-up tachometer and start the engine.

      2. Compare the test results with the tachometer indicator.

      7. If the result is not as specified, the tachometer may have a malfunction.

    7. INSPECT METER/GAUGE


      1. Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.

      2. Perform the Active Test Click here.

    8. INSPECT WARNING/INDICATOR LIGHT


      1. Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.

      2. Perform the Active Test Click here.

    9. INSPECT MULTI-INFORMATION DISPLAY (for Analog Meter)

    Tech Tips

    If this Active Test is being performed and the ignition switch is turned off and then to ON, the clock and ODO/TRIP display background may turn white. If this occurs, end the Active Test and turn the ignition switch off.

  • INSPECT MULTI-INFORMATION DISPLAY (for Optitron Meter)

      Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.

    2. Perform the Active Test Click here.

      Tech Tips

      If this Active Test is being performed and the ignition switch is turned off and then to ON, the ODO/TRIP display background may turn white. If this occurs, end the Active Test and turn the ignition switch off.
