LIN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM Rain Sensor LIN Communication Malfunction

DESCRIPTION

When the auto wiper system is operated, the windshield wiper switch assembly uses LIN communication to communicate with the rain sensor. If the auto wiper system does not operate properly, a problem with the LIN communication between the windshield wiper switch assembly and rain sensor may be causing the malfunction.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE


  1. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (WINDSHIELD WIPER RELAY - RAIN SENSOR)


    1. Disconnect the G120 windshield wiper switch assembly connector.

    2. Disconnect the W6 rain sensor connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      G120-5 (MPX1) - W6-3 (MPX) Always Below 1 Ω
      G120-5 (MPX1) or W6-3 (MPX) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
