DESCRIPTION

The display and navigation module display and the parking assist ECU are connected by the AVC-LAN communication line.

When an AVC-LAN communication error occurs between the display and navigation module display and the parking assist ECU, this DTC is stored.

Either condition is met:


  • Parking assist ECU is/was not connected while the ignition switch is ON (IG or ACC).

  • Communication between the master unit and parking assist ECU is not possible when the engine is started.


  • Parking assist ECU power source circuit

  • AVC-LAN circuit between display and navigation module display and parking assist ECU

  • Display and navigation module display

  • Parking assist ECU

Tech Tips


  • Even if no fault is present, this DTC may be stored depending on the battery condition or engine start voltage.

  • The display and navigation module display is the master unit.

Inspect the fuses for circuits related to this system before performing the following inspection procedure.

  1. CHECK OPTIONAL COMPONENTS (INCLUDING ASSOCIATED WIRING)


    1. Check for optional components.


      1. Check that optional components (including associated wiring) which generate radio waves are not installed.

        Tech Tips


        • Electrical noise from radio waves generated by optional components or the wiring for those components may affect AVC-LAN communication.

        • This DTC may be stored when an AVC-LAN communication error occurs due to electrical noise.

  2. REMOVE OPTIONAL COMPONENTS


    1. Remove the optional components (including associated wiring).

      Note

      Do not remove the optional components or associated wiring without the permission of the customer.

      Disconnect the I3 parking assist ECU connector.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      I3-3 (GND1) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
    3. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

  5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (AVC-LAN COMMUNICATION LINE)


    1. Disconnect the H3 display and navigation module display connector.

    2. Disconnect the I3 parking assist ECU connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      H3-1 (TX1+) - I3-25 (TX+) Always Below 1 Ω
      H3-2 (TX1-) - I3-24 (TX-) Always Below 1 Ω
      H3-1 (TX1+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      H3-2 (TX1-) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

  6. REPLACE PARKING ASSIST ECU


    1. Replace the parking assist ECU.


    2. Clear the DTCs Click here.

    3. Check for DTCs and check if the same trouble occurs again.

      OK
      No DTCs are output.
