DESCRIPTION

This DTC is stored when a malfunction occurs in the multi-media interface ECU.

  • System microprocessor malfunction.

  • Media interface microprocessor malfunction.

  • CD-LSI (Large Scale Integration) malfunction.

  • Internal power supply malfunction.

  • No. 1 stereo jack adapter assembly

  • Multi-media interface ECU

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

Tech Tips

After the inspection is completed, clear the DTC.

PROCEDURE


  1. REPLACE "iPod" OR USB DEVICE


    1. Disconnect the USB device or "iPod" from the No. 1 stereo jack adapter assembly.

    2. Turn the ignition switch off.

      Tech Tips

      When this DTC has been stored, it is necessary to turn off the power switch to make it possible for the vehicle to recognize a new device when it is connected.

    3. Turn the ignition switch to ACC.

    4. Connect a known good USB device or "iPod" to the No. 1 stereo jack adapter assembly.

      Tech Tips


      • If the malfunction occurred when a USB device was in use, use another USB device for the inspection. If the malfunction occurred when an "iPod" was in use, use another "iPod" for the inspection.

    2. Check for DTCs and check if the same trouble occurs again.

      Disconnect the H39 No. 1 stereo jack adapter assembly connector.

    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (MULTI-MEDIA INTERFACE ECU - NO. 1 STEREO JACK ADAPTER)


    1. Disconnect the H40 multi-media interface ECU connector.

    2. Disconnect the H39 No. 1 stereo jack adapter assembly connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      H39-1 (UJSG) - H40-1 (UESG) Always Below 1 Ω
      H39-4 (UPI) - H40-4 (UPO) Always Below 1 Ω
      H39-1 (UJSG) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      H39-4 (UPI) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
