AUDIO AND VISUAL SYSTEM (w/ Navigation System) Sound Signal Circuit between Navigation ECU and Multi-media Interface ECU

DESCRIPTION

The multi-media interface ECU sends a sound signal to the display and navigation module display through this circuit.

If there is an open or short in the circuit, sound cannot be heard from the speakers even if there is no malfunction in the stereo component amplifier assembly, radio receiver assembly, display and navigation module display or speakers.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE


  1. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (DISPLAY AND NAVIGATION MODULE DISPLAY - MULTI-MEDIA INTERFACE ECU)


    1. Disconnect the H5 display and navigation module display connector.

    2. Disconnect the H18 multi-media interface ECU connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      H5-1 (AGND) - H18-1 (USD1) Always Below 1 Ω
      H5-3 (VAR+) - H18-2 (URO+) Always Below 1 Ω
      H5-4 (VAL+) - H18-3 (ULO+) Always Below 1 Ω
      H5-7 (VA-) - H18-4 (UGD1) Always Below 1 Ω
      H5-1 (AGND) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      H5-3 (VAR+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      H5-4 (VAL+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      H5-7 (VA-) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
