ANTI-LOCK BRAKE SYSTEM TC and CG Terminal Circuit

DESCRIPTION

Connecting terminals TC and CG of the DLC3 causes the ECU to output the DTCs by blinking the ABS warning light and slip indicator light.

Tech Tips

When the warning lights continue to blink, a ground short in the wiring of terminal 13 (TC) of the DLC3 or an internal ground short in one or more ECUs is suspected.

  1. CHECK CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM


    1. Check if CAN communication system DTCs are output (for LHD without Entry and Start System: Click here, for RHD without Entry and Start System: Click here.

  2. INSPECT DLC3

  3. INSPECT ECM (DLC3 INPUT)

    1. Turn the ignition switch off.

      Using SST, connect terminals 13 (TC) and 4 (CG) of the DLC3.

    3. Turn the ignition switch to ON.

    4. Check that the MIL is blinking.

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (DLC3 - ECM)


    1. Turn the ignition switch off.

    2. for 5L-E:


      1. Disconnect the G61 ECM connector.

    3. for 2TR-FE:


      1. Disconnect the G60 ECM connector.

    4. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      for 5L-E:
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      G48-13 (TC) - G61-4 (TC) Always Below 1 Ω
      G48-13 (TC) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      for 2TR-FE:
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      G48-13 (TC) - G60-13 (TC) Always Below 1 Ω
      G48-13 (TC) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

  5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (DLC3 - BODY GROUND)


    1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

  6. INSPECT ECM (DLC3 INPUT)

    1. Turn the ignition switch off.

    2. Connect the G60 ECM connector.
