HOOD LOCK CONTROL CABLE ASSEMBLY REMOVAL


  1. REMOVE UPPER RADIATOR SUPPORT SEAL


    1. Remove the 13 clips and upper radiator support seal.

  2. REMOVE RADIATOR GRILLE

    *1 Protective Tape

    1. Put protective tape around the radiator grille.

    2. Remove the 2 clips and 2 bolts.

    3. Detach the 8 claws and remove the radiator grille.

  3. REMOVE MILLIMETER WAVE RADAR SENSOR ASSEMBLY (w/ Dynamic Radar Cruise Control System)

    1. Disconnect the sensor connector.

    2. Remove the 3 bolts and sensor.

  4. REMOVE HOOD LOCK RELEASE LEVER PROTECTOR


    1. A009BQV

      Detach the 2 clamps and 2 guides and remove the hood lock release lever protector.

  5. REMOVE LOW PITCHED HORN ASSEMBLY (for LHD)

    1. Disconnect the connector.

    2. Remove the bolt and low pitched horn.

  6. REMOVE HIGH PITCHED HORN ASSEMBLY (for LHD)

    1. Disconnect the connector.

    2. Remove the bolt and high pitched horn.

  7. REMOVE HOOD LOCK CONTROL CABLE COVER

      Remove the 2 screws.

    2. Detach the claw and remove the hood lock control cable cover.

  8. REMOVE HOOD LOCK ASSEMBLY (for LHD)

      Remove the 3 bolts.

    2. w/ Engine Hood Courtesy Switch:

        Disconnect the connector.

    3. Disconnect the hood lock control cable and remove the hood lock assembly.

  9. REMOVE HOOD LOCK ASSEMBLY (for RHD)


    1. A0095IW

      Remove the 3 bolts.

    2. w/ Engine Hood Courtesy Switch:

        Disconnect the connector.

    3. Disconnect the hood lock control cable and remove the hood lock assembly.

  10. REMOVE HOOD LOCK CONTROL LEVER SUB-ASSEMBLY


    1. for LHD:

        *2 Fuel Lid Lock Control Cable
        *3 Hood Lock Control Cable
        *4 Clamp

        Detach the clamp as shown in the illustration.

        Detach the 3 claws.

      3. A0096S7

        Remove the hood lock control cable assembly and hood lock control lever sub-assembly.

    2. for RHD:


      1. A0098BR

        Detach the 3 claws.

      2. A0096S7

        Remove the hood lock control cable assembly and hood lock control lever sub-assembly.

  11. REMOVE HOOD LOCK CONTROL CABLE ASSEMBLY (for LHD)


    1. Using a screwdriver, detach the clamps shown in the illustration.

      Tech Tips

      Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

    2. Pull the hood lock control cable assembly from the engine compartment and remove it.

  12. REMOVE HOOD LOCK CONTROL CABLE ASSEMBLY (for RHD)


    1. Using a screwdriver, detach the clamps shown in the illustration.

      Tech Tips

      Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

    2. Pull the hood lock control cable assembly from the engine compartment and remove it.
