ROOF HEADLINING (for 3 Door) REMOVAL

  • Use the same procedure for RHD and LHD vehicles.

  • The procedure listed below is for LHD vehicles.


  1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

    Note


    • After turning the ignition switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal notice before proceeding with work Click here.

    • When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected Click here.

  2. REMOVE REAR NO. 1 SEAT ASSEMBLY (w/ Rear No. 1 Seat)


    1. for LH Side:

      Remove the rear No. 1 seat assembly Click here.

    2. for RH Side:

      Remove the rear No. 1 seat assembly Click here.

  3. REMOVE DOOR SCUFF PLATE ASSEMBLY LH

    1. Put protective tape around the door scuff plate.

    2. Using a screwdriver, detach the 4 clips, 10 claws and 2 guides and remove the door scuff plate.

  4. REMOVE DOOR SCUFF PLATE ASSEMBLY RH

  5. REMOVE COWL SIDE TRIM BOARD LH

    2. Detach the clip and claw and remove the cowl side trim board.

  7. REMOVE FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM WEATHERSTRIP LH

    1. Remove the front door opening trim weatherstrip.

  9. REMOVE FRONT NO. 1 ASSIST GRIP PLUG LH

    1. Using a screwdriver, detach the 2 claws and remove the front No. 1 assist grip plug.

  10. REMOVE FRONT NO. 1 ASSIST GRIP PLUG RH

  11. REMOVE NO. 1 ASSIST GRIP

    1. Remove the 2 bolts.

    2. Detach the 2 claws and remove the No. 1 assist grip.

  12. REMOVE FRONT PILLAR GARNISH LH

    1. Detach the 3 guides and remove the front pillar garnish.

      w/ Curtain Shield Airbag:

      Protect the curtain shield airbag assembly.


      1. Completely cover the airbag with a cloth or nylon sheet and secure the ends of the cover with adhesive tape as shown in the illustration.

        Note

        Cover the curtain shield airbag with a protective cover as soon as the front pillar garnish is removed.

  13. REMOVE FRONT PILLAR GARNISH RH

  14. REMOVE TONNEAU COVER ASSEMBLY (w/ Tonneau Cover)


    1. Remove the tonneau cover.

  15. REMOVE MAT SET PLATE COVER

    1. Using a screwdriver, detach the 2 claws and remove the mat set plate cover.

  16. REMOVE REAR FLOOR MAT REAR SUPPORT PLATE

    2. Detach the 6 claws and remove the rear floor mat rear support plate.

  17. REMOVE QUARTER TRIM COVER HOLE LH

    1. Detach the 2 claws and 2 guides and remove the quarter trim cover hole.

  19. REMOVE REAR FLOOR CARPET ASSEMBLY

    1. Remove the rear floor carpet.

  20. REMOVE NO. 1 LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT TRIM HOOK

    1. Remove the luggage compartment trim hook by turning it clockwise.

  21. REMOVE NO. 1 TONNEAU COVER HOLDER CAP (w/o Tonneau Cover)

  23. REMOVE QUARTER TRIM POCKET TRAY

    2. Using a screwdriver, detach the 6 claws and 2 guides, and remove the quarter trim pocket tray.

  24. REMOVE OUTER LAP BELT ANCHOR COVER

    1. Detach the 3 claws and remove the outer lap belt anchor cover.

  25. REMOVE DECK TRIM SIDE PANEL ASSEMBLY LH

    1. Remove the bolt and disconnect the front seat outer belt floor anchor.

      Remove the bolt and disconnect the rear No. 1 seat outer belt floor anchor.

    3. Remove the 3 bolts and 2 screws.

    4. Detach the 9 claws and 12 clips and remove the deck trim side panel.

  26. REMOVE DECK TRIM SIDE PANEL ASSEMBLY RH

    1. Remove the bolt and disconnect the front seat outer belt floor anchor.

      Remove the bolt and disconnect the rear No. 1 seat outer belt floor anchor.

    3. Remove the 3 bolts and 2 screws.

    4. Detach the 9 claws and 12 clips.

    5. Disconnect the connector and remove the deck trim side panel.

  27. REMOVE FRONT QUARTER TRIM PANEL ASSEMBLY LH

    1. Move the front shoulder belt anchor adjuster to the lowest position.

    2. Remove the bolt.

    3. Detach the 2 clips and 2 guides.

    4. Pass the front seat outer belt floor anchor through the front quarter trim panel and remove the front quarter trim panel.

  29. REMOVE REAR QUARTER TRIM PANEL ASSEMBLY LH

      Detach the 4 claws and 2 guides, pass the rear No. 1 seat belt floor anchor through the rear quarter trim panel and remove the rear quarter trim panel.

    1. Turn the visor holder approximately 45° and pull it out as shown in the illustration.

    2. Detach the 2 claws and remove the visor holder.

    2. Disconnect the connector and remove the map light.

      Detach the 2 claws and slide the inner rear view mirror stay holder cover in the direction indicated by the arrow in the illustration.

      Detach the 2 claws and remove the inner rear view mirror stay holder cover.

  42. REMOVE NO. 1 ROOM LIGHT ASSEMBLY


    1. Remove the No. 1 room light assembly Click here.

  44. REMOVE ROOF HEADLINING ASSEMBLY

      Disconnect the inner mirror connector.

      w/ Rain Sensor:

      Disconnect the rain sensor connector.

      w/ Sliding Roof:

      Disconnect the drive gear connector.

      Disconnect the 2 connectors and detach the 3 clamps from the front pillar LH.

      Remove the bolt.

    6. Disconnect the 2 connectors and detach the 3 clamps from the front pillar RH.

      Disconnect the connector and detach the 3 clamps from the rear pillar LH.

      Disconnect the connector and detach the 4 clamps from the rear pillar RH.

      1. Detach the 2 clips.

      Be careful not to damage the roof headlining when removing it.
