FRONT CONSOLE BOX (w/ Refrigerated Cool Box) REMOVAL


  1. RECOVER REFRIGERANT FROM REFRIGERATION SYSTEM


    1. Start the engine.

    2. Operate the cooler compressor under the conditions shown below:

      Item Condition
      Engine Speed Idling
      Operating Time 3 minutes or more
      A/C Switch Status On
      Blower Switch Status HI
      Set Temperature MAX COOL

      This causes most of the compressor oil from the various components of the A/C system to collect in the A/C compressor.

      Note

      It is not necessary to operate the cooler compressor if the A/C does not operate because of compressor lock, etc.

    3. Stop the engine.

    4. Recover the refrigerant from the A/C system using a refrigerant recovery unit.

      Tech Tips

      Use the refrigerant recovery unit in accordance with the manufacturer's instruction manual.

  2. REMOVE FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY


    1. for Manual Seat:

      Remove the front seat assembly Click here.

    2. for Power Seat:

      Remove the front seat assembly Click here.

    3. for Walk in Seat Type:

      Remove the front seat assembly Click here.

  3. REMOVE INTEGRATION CONTROL AND PANEL ASSEMBLY

    1. Detach the 4 clips.

    2. Disconnect the connector and remove the integration control and panel assembly.

  4. REMOVE NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL CUSHION

    *1 Protective Tape

    1. Put protective tape around the No. 2 instrument panel finish panel cushion.

    2. Using a moulding remover, detach the 5 clips and remove the No. 2 instrument panel finish panel cushion.

  5. REMOVE NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL CUSHION

    Tech Tips

    Use the same procedure described for the No. 2 instrument panel finish panel cushion.

  6. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL END LH

    1. Detach the 4 clips and remove the instrument panel finish panel end.

  7. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL END RH

    Tech Tips

    Use the same procedure described for the No. 2 instrument panel finish panel cushion.

  8. REMOVE FRONT CONSOLE UPPER PANEL GARNISH

    1. Put protective tape around the front console upper panel garnish.

    2. Detach the 5 clips.

    3. Disconnect each connector and remove the front console upper panel garnish.

  9. REMOVE NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY

      1. Remove the screw.

      2. Detach the 2 clips and 2 guides and remove the No. 1 instrument panel under cover.

      for RHD:


      1. Remove the screw.

      2. Detach the 3 clips and 2 guides and remove the No. 1 instrument panel under cover.

  10. REMOVE FRONT NO. 1 CONSOLE BOX INSERT

    1. Detach the 2 clips and guide and remove the front No. 1 console box insert.

  11. REMOVE NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY


    1. Remove the screw.

    2. Detach the 3 clips and 2 guides and remove the No. 2 instrument panel under cover.

  12. REMOVE FRONT NO. 2 CONSOLE BOX INSERT

    1. Detach the 2 clips and guide and remove the front No. 2 console box insert.

  13. REMOVE SHIFT LEVER KNOB SUB-ASSEMBLY


    1. for Automatic Transmission:

      Remove the shift lever knob sub-assembly Click here.

    2. for Manual Transmission:

      Remove the shift lever knob sub-assembly Click here.

  14. REMOVE CONSOLE PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY


    1. for Automatic Transmission:

      Remove the console panel sub-assembly Click here.

    2. for Manual Transmission:

      Remove the console panel sub-assembly Click here.

  15. REMOVE NO. 1 CONSOLE BOX DUCT (for Single Air Conditioning System)

    1. Remove the clip and No. 1 console box duct.

  16. REMOVE COOLING BOX TRAY


    1. Remove the cooling box tray.

  17. REMOVE REAR CONSOLE END PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY

      Detach the 8 claws.

    2. Disconnect the connector and remove the rear console end panel sub-assembly.

  18. REMOVE CENTER FLOOR CARPET COVER RH

      Detach the 3 claws and remove the center floor carpet cover RH.

  19. REMOVE CONSOLE BOX ASSEMBLY

    1. Remove the clip.

    2. Remove the 7 bolts and 2 screws.

    3. Remove the 2 bolts and disconnect the 2 cooler pipes.

    4. Disconnect the drain cooler hose.

    5. Disconnect the connector and remove the console box assembly.
