LUGGAGE DOOR HINGE TORSION BAR REMOVAL

Note

After installing the torsion bar, use your hand to open and close the luggage door. Make sure the luggage door can open and close smoothly.

  1. REMOVE SPARE WHEEL COVER ASSEMBLY

    1. Remove the spare wheel cover assembly.

  2. REMOVE BAGGAGE HOLDER NET (w/ Partition Net)

    1. Remove the baggage holder net.

  3. REMOVE REAR FLOOR FINISH PLATE

    1. Remove the 5 clips.

    2. Disengage the 4 clips and remove the rear floor finish plate.

  4. REMOVE NO. 1 LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT TRIM HOOK

    1. Push the 2 pins and remove the 2 No. 1 luggage compartment trim hooks.

  5. REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT INNER TRIM COVER LH

    1. Remove the clip <A>.

    2. Remove the 2 clips <B>.

    3. Disengage the fastener and remove the luggage compartment inner trim cover LH.

  6. REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT INNER TRIM COVER RH

    1. Remove the clip <A>.

    2. Remove the 2 clips <B>.

    3. Disengage the fastener and remove the luggage compartment inner trim cover RH.

  7. REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR HINGE COVER LH

    1. Disengage the 4 claws and remove the luggage compartment door hinge cover LH.

  8. REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR HINGE COVER RH

    Tech Tips

    Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

  9. REMOVE LUGGAGE DOOR HINGE TORSION BAR LH

    1. Disengage the hook in the order indicated in the illustration and disconnect the rear seatback lock assembly LH (rear seat lock control cable LH).

      Use the same procedure as for the LH side and RH side.

    2. Put protective tape around the luggage door hinge.

    3. Using SST, disconnect the luggage door hinge torsion bar LH from the luggage door hinge and the left side of the vehicle body as shown in the illustration.

    4. Disengage the 2 claws as shown in the illustration.

    5. Disconnect the luggage door hinge torsion bar LH from the luggage compartment door torsion bar support as shown in the illustration.

    6. Remove the luggage door hinge torsion bar LH from the right side of the vehicle body as shown in the illustration.

  10. REMOVE LUGGAGE DOOR HINGE TORSION BAR RH

    1. Put protective tape around the luggage door hinge.

    2. Using SST, disconnect the luggage door hinge torsion bar RH from the luggage door hinge and the right side of the vehicle body as shown in the illustration.

    3. Disconnect the luggage door hinge torsion bar RH from the luggage compartment door torsion bar support as shown in the illustration.

    4. Remove the luggage door hinge torsion bar RH from the left side of the vehicle body as shown in the illustration.

  11. REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR TORSION BAR SUPPORT

    1. Remove the luggage compartment door torsion bar support as shown in the illustration.

      Note

      Make sure to replace the luggage compartment door torsion bar support with a new one.
