FRONT SEAT SIDE AIRBAG ASSEMBLY REMOVAL

CAUTION:

  • Be sure to read Precaution thoroughly before servicing Click here.

  • Wear protective gloves. Sharp areas on the seat frame and adjuster may injure your hands.

  • If the side airbag was deployed, replace the front seat airbag assembly, front seatback frame sub-assembly or separate type front seatback spring assembly, separate type front seatback cover and separate type front seatback pad with the necessary parts in accordance with the extent of the collision damage.

Use the same procedure for the LH side and RH side.

  1. REMOVE FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY (for TMMK Made Manual Seat)

  5. DISCONNECT AIRBAG WIRE HARNESS (for TMMK Made Manual Seat)

    1. Disconnect the 2 rubber bands of the separate type front seatback cover with pad.

    2. Disengage the claw and 3 clamps to disconnect the airbag wire harness.

  6. DISCONNECT AIRBAG WIRE HARNESS (for SIA Made Manual Seat)

    1. Disconnect the rubber band of the separate type front seatback cover with pad.

    2. Disengage the fastener and separate the airbag wire harness.

    3. Disengage the claw and 3 clamps to disconnect the airbag wire harness.

  7. DISCONNECT AIRBAG WIRE HARNESS (for TMMK Made Power Seat)

    1. Disconnect the 2 rubber bands of the separate type front seatback cover with pad.

    2. Disconnect the connector (A).

    3. Disengage the clamp (B).

    4. Disengage the claw (D) and 3 clamps (C) to disconnect the airbag wire harness.

    5. w/ Seat Heater System:

      1. Disconnect the connector (E).

      2. Disengage the clamp (F).

  8. DISCONNECT AIRBAG WIRE HARNESS (for SIA Made Power Seat)

    1. Disconnect the rubber band of the separate type front seatback cover with pad.

    2. Disengage the fastener and separate the airbag wire harness.

    3. Disengage the claw and 3 clamps to disconnect the airbag wire harness.

    4. w/ Seat Heater System:

      1. Disconnect the connector.

      2. Disengage the clamp.

  9. REMOVE SEPARATE TYPE FRONT SEATBACK COVER WITH PAD (for TMMK Made Manual Seat)

    1. Disengage the hook.

    2. Disengage the 2 fasteners.

    3. Turn back the separate type front seatback cover.

      A011VAC

    4. Disengage the 2 hooks.

      1. Remove the 4 clips.

      2. Slide each hook to disengage them.

    5. Disengage the 4 claws and remove the 2 front seat headrest supports.

    6. Remove the separate type front seatback cover with pad.

  10. REMOVE SEPARATE TYPE FRONT SEATBACK COVER WITH PAD (for SIA Made Manual Seat)

    1. Remove the 5 hog rings.

    2. Remove the 3 hog rings.

    3. Remove the 2 hog rings.

    4. Turn back the separate type front seatback cover.

    5. Remove the 2 nuts and the 3 brackets.

    6. Disengage the 4 claws and remove the 2 front seat headrest supports.

    7. Remove the separate type front seatback cover with pad.

  11. REMOVE SEPARATE TYPE FRONT SEATBACK COVER WITH PAD (for TMMK Made Power Seat)

    1. Disengage the hook.

    2. Disengage the 2 fasteners.

    3. Turn back the separate type front seatback cover.

    4. Disengage the 2 hooks.

      1. Remove the 4 clips.

      2. Slide each hook to disengage them.

    5. Disengage the 4 claws and remove the 2 front seat headrest supports.

    6. Remove the separate type front seatback cover with pad.

  12. REMOVE SEPARATE TYPE FRONT SEATBACK COVER WITH PAD (for SIA Made Power Seat)

    1. Remove the 5 hog rings.

    2. Remove the 3 hog rings.

    3. Remove the 2 hog rings.

    4. Turn back the separate type front seatback cover.

    5. Remove the 2 nuts and the 3 brackets.

    6. Disengage the 4 claws and remove the 2 front seat headrest supports.

    7. Remove the separate type front seatback cover with pad.

  13. REMOVE FRONT SEAT AIRBAG ASSEMBLY

    1. Disengage the 2 clamps.

    2. Remove the 2 nuts and the front seat airbag assembly.

      CAUTION:

      • The nuts must not be reused.

      • Make sure that the front seatback frame sub-assembly or separate type front seatback spring assembly is not deformed. If it is, replace it with a new one.
