BRAKE ACTUATOR REMOVAL

  1. PRECAUTION

    Note

    After turning the ignition switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal notice before proceeding with work Click here.

  2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

    Note

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected Click here.

  3. SEPARATE SUCTION HOSE SUB-ASSEMBLY

    1. Disengage the clamp and separate the suction hose sub-assembly from the brake actuator bracket assembly.

  4. REMOVE BRAKE ACTUATOR WITH BRACKET

    1. Disengage the claw (a) and raise the lock lever.

    2. Engage the claw (b) and disconnect the connector from the brake actuator assembly.

      Note

      Be careful not to allow any brake fluid to enter the connector.

    3. Using a union nut wrench, disconnect the 6 brake lines from the brake actuator assembly.

    4. Use tags or make a memo to identify the places to reconnect the lines.

    5. Remove the 3 bolts and brake actuator with bracket from the vehicle body.

      Note

      Do not damage the brake lines, suction hose sub-assembly or wire harness.

  5. REMOVE BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY

    1. Loosen the 3 nuts and remove the brake actuator assembly from the brake actuator bracket assembly.
