Tech Tips
Use the same procedure for the RH side and LH side.
The procedure listed below is for the LH side.
REMOVE FRONT WHEEL
LOOSEN FRONT SUPPORT TO FRONT SHOCK ABSORBER NUT
Loosen the front support to front shock absorber nut.
Note
Do not remove the front support to front shock absorber nut.
Loosen the front support to front shock absorber nut only when the front shock absorber with coil spring needs to be disassembled.
SEPARATE FRONT SPEED SENSOR
Remove the bolt and clamp, and separate the front speed sensor and front flexible hose from the front shock absorber assembly.
Note
Be sure to separate the front speed sensor from the front shock absorber assembly completely.
SEPARATE FRONT STABILIZER LINK ASSEMBLY
Remove the nut and separate the front stabilizer link assembly from the front shock absorber assembly.
If the ball joint turns together with the nut, use a wrench to hold the stud bolt.
REMOVE FRONT SHOCK ABSORBER WITH COIL SPRING
Support the front axle using a jack and wooden block.

Remove the 2 bolts and 2 nuts, and separate the front shock absorber with coil spring (lower side) from the steering knuckle.
Note
When removing the nuts, keep the bolts from rotating.
Remove the 3 nuts and front shock absorber with coil spring.
Note
Make sure that the front speed sensor is completely separated from the front shock absorber with coil spring.
SECURE FRONT SHOCK ABSORBER WITH COIL SPRING
Install SST to the front coil spring with the hooks spread as far apart as possible from each other.
Note
Make sure that the claws on the hooks are securely engaged to the spring.
Install the bolt and nut to the front shock absorber assembly as shown in the illustration and secure the front shock absorber assembly in a vise using aluminum plates.

REMOVE FRONT SUPPORT TO FRONT SHOCK ABSORBER NUT
Using SST, compress the front coil spring.
Note
Do not use an impact wrench. It will damage SST.
If the front coil spring is compressed at an angle, using 2 SST will make the work easier.
Check that the front coil spring is sufficiently compressed.
Remove the front support to front shock absorber nut.
