CAUTION:


  • Prolonged and repeated contact with engine oil will result in the removal of natural oils from the skin, leading to dryness, irritation and dermatitis. In addition, used engine oil contains potentially harmful contaminants which may cause skin cancer.

  • Precautions should be taken when replacing engine oil to minimize the risk of your skin making contact with used engine oil. Protective clothing and gloves that cannot be penetrated by oil should be worn. The skin should be washed with soap and water, or use waterless hand cleaner, to remove any used engine oil thoroughly. Do not use gasoline, thinners, or solvents.

  • In order to protect the environment, used oil and used oil filters must be disposed of at designated disposal sites.


  1. DRAIN ENGINE OIL


    1. Remove the oil filler cap.

    2. A0159J6

      Remove the 2 bolts and No. 2 engine under cover seal.

    3. Remove the oil pan drain plug and gasket, and drain the engine oil into a container.

    4. Install a new gasket and the oil pan drain plug.

      Torque:
      40 N*m  { 408 kgf*cm, 30 ft.*lbf }

  2. REMOVE FRONT FENDER SPLASH SHIELD SUB-ASSEMBLY LH


    1. A01588F

      Выверните 3 болта и винт.

  3. REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY LH

      Remove the 5 bolts and No. 1 engine under cover sub-assembly LH.

  4. REMOVE OIL FILTER ELEMENT

      Connect a hose with an inside diameter of 15 mm (0.591 in.) to the pipe.

      Remove the oil filter drain plug.

      Install the pipe to the oil filter cap.

      Note

      If the O-ring is removed with the drain plug, install the O-ring together with the pipe.

      Tech Tips

      Use a container to catch the draining oil.

      Check that oil is drained from the oil filter. Then disconnect the pipe and remove the O-ring as shown in the illustration.

      Remove the oil filter element and O-ring from the oil filter cap.

      Note

      Be sure to remove the cap O-ring by hand, without using any tools, to prevent damage to the cap O-ring groove.

  5. INSTALL OIL FILTER ELEMENT


    1. Clean the inside of the oil filter cap, its threads and its O-ring groove.

    2. Apply a small amount of engine oil to a new O-ring and install it to the oil filter cap.

    3. Set a new oil filter element to the oil filter cap.

    4. Remove any dirt or foreign matter from the installation surface of the engine.

    5. Apply a small amount of engine oil to the O-ring again and temporarily install the oil filter cap.

      Note

      Do not remove the oil filter bracket clip.

      Using SST, tighten the oil filter cap.

      25 N*m  { 255 kgf*cm, 18 ft.*lbf }

      Note


      • When tightening the oil filter cap, do not remove the oil filter bracket clip.

      • Make sure that the oil filter is installed securely as shown in the illustration.

      • Be careful that the O-ring does not get caught between any surrounding parts.

      Apply a small amount of engine oil to a new drain plug O-ring, and install it to the oil filter cap.

      Note

      Before installing the O-ring, remove any dirt or foreign matter from the installation surface of the oil filter cap.

    8. Install the oil filter drain plug.

      Torque:
      13 N*m  { 127 kgf*cm, 9 ft.*lbf }

      Note

      Be careful that the O-ring does not get caught between any surrounding parts.

    9. Install the No. 2 engine under cover seal with the 2 bolts.

      Torque:
      10 N*m  { 102 kgf*cm, 7 ft.*lbf }

  6. ADD ENGINE OIL


    1. Add fresh oil and install the oil filler cap.

      Standard Oil Grade
      Oil Grade Oil Viscosity (SAE)
      API grade SL "energy-conserving", API grade SM "energy-conserving", API grade SN "energy-conserving" or ILSAC multigrade engine oil

      5W-30

      10W-30
      API grade SL, SM or SN multigrade engine oil

      15W-40

      20W-50
      Standard Oil Capacity

  7. INSPECT FOR OIL LEAK


    1. Start the engine. Make sure that there are no oil leaks from the area that was worked on.

  8. INSPECT ENGINE OIL LEVEL

      Если уровень масла находится на низком уровне, убедитесь в отсутствии утечек моторного масла и долейте масло до максимальной отметки.

      Note

      Не заливайте моторное масло выше максимальной отметки.

      Tech Tips

      Во время движения может быть израсходовано некоторое количество моторного масла. В указанных ниже ситуациях расход масла может возрасти, и может потребоваться добавление масла в промежутках между операциями технического обслуживания.


      • В случае нового двигателя, например непосредственно после покупки автомобиля или после замены двигателя.

      • При использовании низкокачественного масла или масла с несоответствующей вязкостью.

      • При движении с большой частотой вращения коленчатого вала двигателя или с большой нагрузкой (например, при буксировке), либо при движении с частым разгоном или замедлением.

      • При длительной работе двигателя на холостом ходу, либо при движении с частыми остановками в условиях дорожных пробок.

      При определении расхода масла следует иметь в виду, что масло может разбавляться. Это затрудняет точное определение истинного уровня масла.

  9. INSTALL NO. 1 ENGINE UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY LH


    1. Install the No. 1 engine under cover with the 5 bolts.

      Torque:
      29 N*m  { 296 kgf*cm, 21 ft.*lbf }

  10. INSTALL FRONT FENDER SPLASH SHIELD SUB-ASSEMBLY LH


    1. Вставьте фиксатор, чтобы закрепить брызговик левого переднего крыла в сборе.

    2. Вверните 3 болта и винт.
