REAR BUMPER (for Standard) INSTALLATION

  1. INSTALL NO. 2 LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT SIDE COVER PROTECTOR


    1. Install the No. 2 luggage compartment side cover protector with 2 new grommets.

    2. Install the 2 screws.

  2. INSTALL NO. 1 LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT SIDE COVER PROTECTOR

    Tech Tips

    Use the same procedure described for the LH side.

  3. INSTALL REAR BUMPER ARM BRACKET LH


    1. Install the rear bumper arm bracket LH with the 2 bolts.

    2. Connect the connector.

  4. INSTALL REAR BUMPER ARM BRACKET


    1. Install the rear bumper arm bracket with the bolt.

      Tech Tips

      Use the same procedure to install the rear bumper arm bracket on the other side.

  5. INSTALL REAR NO. 2 BUMPER REINFORCEMENT


    1. Install the rear No. 2 bumper reinforcement with the 2 bolts.

  6. INSTALL REAR BUMPER SIDE SUPPORT LH


    1. Attach the 6 claws to install the rear bumper side support LH.

    2. Install the 3 screws.

  7. INSTALL REAR BUMPER SIDE SUPPORT RH

    Tech Tips

    Use the same procedure described for the LH side.

  8. INSTALL REAR UPPER BUMPER RETAINER LH


    1. Attach the 2 clips to install the rear upper bumper retainer LH.

  9. INSTALL REAR UPPER BUMPER RETAINER RH

    Tech Tips

    Use the same procedure described for the LH side.

  10. INSTALL REAR COMBINATION LIGHT ASSEMBLY LH


    1. Connect the connector.

    2. Attach the 2 clips to install the rear combination light assembly LH.

    3. Install the 2 bolts.

    4. Attach the 6 claws and install the 2 covers.

  11. INSTALL REAR COMBINATION LIGHT ASSEMBLY RH

    Tech Tips

    Use the same procedure described for the LH side.

  12. INSTALL REAR BUMPER COVER

    Tech Tips

    For the rear bumper cover with tire carrier, use the procedures described below.


    1. w/ TOYOTA Parking Assist-sensor System or w/ Rear Fog Light:

      Connect the No. 2 frame wire connector.

    2. Attach the 14 claws to install the rear bumper cover.

    3. Install the 7 bolts, 6 screws and 2 clips.

    4. Open the tail gate and install the 4 clips.

    5. Close the tail gate.

  13. INSTALL REAR NO. 1 BUMPER PLATE


    1. Attach the 20 claws to install the rear No. 1 bumper plate.

  14. INSTALL REAR QUARTER PANEL MUDGUARD LH

    1. Install the mudguard with the clip.

    2. Using a T30 "TORX" socket, install the 6 screws.

  15. INSTALL REAR QUARTER PANEL MUDGUARD RH

    1. Install the mudguard with the clip.

    2. Using a T30 "TORX" socket, install the 7 screws.

  16. INSTALL SPARE WHEEL CARRIER SUB-ASSEMBLY (w/ Tire Carrier)


    1. Clean the threaded surfaces on the vehicle body with a non-residue solvent.

    2. Apply adhesive to the threads of the 6 bolts.

      Adhesive
      Toyota Genuine Adhesive 1324, Three Bond 1324 or equivalent

    3. Install the spare wheel carrier with the 6 bolts.

      Torque:
      28.4 N*m  { 290 kgf*cm, 21 ft.*lbf }

    4. Install the spare tire.

      Torque:
      90 N*m  { 918 kgf*cm, 66 ft.*lbf }

  17. INSTALL SPARE WHEEL COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY (w/ Tire Carrier)

    1. Attach the clip to install the cover.

    2. Install the 2 nuts.

  18. INSTALL SPARE WHEEL CARRIER HINGE BRACKET (w/ Tire Carrier)

    1. Attach the 2 claws to install the bracket.
