After turning the ignition switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal notice before proceeding with work Click here.
DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
CAUTION:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected Click here.

REMOVE TONNEAU COVER ASSEMBLY (w/ Tonneau Cover)
Remove the tonneau cover.

REMOVE REAR NO. 1 SEAT ASSEMBLY (for Bench Seat Type)
REMOVE INSTRUMENT SIDE PANEL LH

Place protective tape as shown in the illustration.
Using a moulding remover, detach the 6 claws and remove the instrument side panel.

Using a moulding remover, detach the 6 claws and remove the instrument side panel.

Disconnect the connector and remove the instrument side panel.

Detach the 7 claws and 4 clips, and remove the scuff plate.

Remove the cap nut.
Detach the 2 clips and remove the cowl side trim board.

Detach the 2 clips and remove the cowl side trim board.
REMOVE REAR STEP COVER

Use the same procedure to remove the step cover on the other side.
Detach the 2 claws and remove the step cover.
REMOVE REAR DOOR SCUFF PLATE LH
Remove the screw.
Detach the 3 claws and 4 clips, and remove the scuff plate.

Detach the 4 claws and remove the 2 plugs.

REMOVE FRONT FLOOR CARPET ASSEMBLY
Detach the 2 clips and 8 claws.
Remove the carpet from the floor, open the back door and tail gate, and remove the carpet from the rear of the vehicle.
REMOVE REAR FLOOR MAT REAR SUPPORT PLATE
Detach the 6 clips and remove the support plate.
REMOVE NO. 1 TONNEAU COVER HOLDER CAP (w/ Tonneau Cover)
Tech Tips
Use the same procedure to remove the tonneau cover holder cap on the other side.
Detach the 2 claws and remove the tonneau cover holder cap.
REMOVE REAR SEAT COVER CAP (w/ Rear No. 2 Seat, except Face to Face Seat Type)
Tech Tips
Use the same procedure to remove the rear seat cover cap on the other side.
Using a screwdriver, detach the 3 claws and remove the rear seat cover cap.

Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
REMOVE FRONT QUARTER TRIM PANEL ASSEMBLY RH
Tech Tips
When removing the front quarter trim panel, operate the reclining adjuster release handle and move the No. 1 rear seat to the position shown in the illustration.
Detach the 3 claws and remove the cover.
Remove the bolt and rear No. 1 seat belt anchor.
w/ Rear No. 2 Seat, except Face to Face Seat Type:
Detach the 3 claws and remove the cover.
Remove the bolt and rear No. 2 seat belt anchor.
w/ Rear No. 2 Seat, except Face to Face Seat Type:
Remove the clip and bolt.
Detach the 16 clips and 2 claws.
w/o Rear Air Conditioning System:
Disconnect the rear seat lock control lever cable and then remove the quarter trim panel.
w/ Rear Air Conditioning System:
Disconnect the thermistor connector and rear seat lock control lever cable, and then remove the quarter trim panel.
w/o Rear No. 2 Seat or w/ Rear No. 2 Seat, for Face to Face Seat Type:
Remove the clip.
Detach the 16 clips and 2 claws, and remove the quarter trim panel.
w/ Tonneau Cover:
Remove the screw and clip.
Detach the 16 clips and 2 claws, and remove the quarter trim panel.
REMOVE FUEL FILLER OPENING LID LOCK RETAINER
Turn the cable counterclockwise and remove the cable from the retainer.
Turn the lock retainer counterclockwise and remove the lock retainer.
REMOVE FUEL LID LOCK OPEN LEVER SUB-ASSEMBLY
Detach the 2 claws.
Disconnect the fuel lid lock control cable and remove the fuel lid lock open lever.
REMOVE FUEL LID LOCK CONTROL CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY
Using a screwdriver, disconnect the clamps shown in the illustration.
Tech Tips
Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
Remove the lock control cable.
