Use these following procedures to troubleshoot the tail gate closer system.

INSPECT BATTERY VOLTAGE

If the voltage is below 11 V, recharge or replace the battery before proceeding.
CHECK COMMUNICATION FUNCTION OF CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM*
Use the intelligent tester to check if the CAN communication system is functioning normally.

Starting with the lower tail gate closed, open and close the lower tail gate 6 times.

Clear the DTCs (Click here).
Starting with the lower tail gate closed, open and close the lower tail gate 6 times.
Recheck for DTCs (Click here).
