DESCRIPTION

If the communication line (EFIO-IMI) to the ID code box (immobiliser code ECU) is stuck on HI output, the ECM outputs this DTC.

    CLEAR DTC


    1. Clear the DTCs (Click here).


  2. Click here

    CHECK FOR DTC


    1. Check for DTCs (Click here).

      Tip:

      If DTCs other than DTC B279A are output, troubleshoot those DTCs first.

    CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (ID CODE BOX (IMMOBILISER CODE ECU) - ECM)


    1. A015DYLE23

      Disconnect the E28 ID code box connector.

    2. A015DYLE24

      Disconnect the A38*1 or A52*2 ECU connector.

      Tip:
      • *1: for LHD

      • *2: for RHD

    3. Measure the resistance and voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.


      1. for 1UR-FE

        Standard Resistance
        Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
        E28-6 (EFIO) - A38*1-40 (IMI) Always Below 1 Ω
        E28-6 (EFIO) or A38*1-40 (IMI) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
        E28-6 (EFIO) - A52*2-40 (IMI) Always Below 1 Ω
        E28-6 (EFIO) or A52*2-40 (IMI) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
        Tip:
        • *1: for LHD

        • *2: for RHD

        A38*1-40 (IMI) - Body ground

    1. Using an oscilloscope, check the waveform.

    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.
