FRONT AXLE HUB REMOVAL

Tech Tips


  • Use the same procedures for the LH side and RH side.

  • The procedures listed below are for the LH side.


  1. REMOVE STABILIZER CONTROL VALVE PROTECTOR (w/ KDSS)


    1. A0158P4

      Detach the clamp, and disconnect the connector from the protector.

    2. Remove the 3 bolts and protector.

  2. OPEN STABILIZER CONTROL WITH ACCUMULATOR HOUSING SHUTTER VALVE (w/ KDSS)


    1. Using a 5 mm hexagon socket wrench, loosen the lower and upper chamber shutter valves of the stabilizer control with accumulator housing 2.0 to 3.5 turns.

      Note


      • When loosening a shutter valve, make sure that the end protrudes 2 to 3.5 mm (0.0787 to 0.137 in.) from the surface of the block, and do not turn the shutter valve any further.

      • Do not remove the shutter valves.

  3. REMOVE FRONT WHEEL

  4. DISCONNECT FRONT DISC BRAKE CALIPER ASSEMBLY LH


    1. A0159O4

      Remove the bolt and nut, and disconnect the brake tube bracket from the steering knuckle.

    2. A0159QR

      Remove the 2 bolts and disconnect the disc brake caliper from the steering knuckle.

      Note


      • Do not disconnect the flexible hose from the disc brake caliper.

      • Do not twist or bend the flexible hose.

  5. REMOVE FRONT DISC

  6. REMOVE FRONT AXLE HUB GREASE CAP LH

      Using a screwdriver and hammer, remove the axle hub grease cap.

      Note

      Do not damage the axle hub.

  7. REMOVE FRONT AXLE SHAFT NUT LH

      Remove the cotter pin and adjusting lock cap.

    2. A0159BL

      Using a 39 mm socket wrench, remove the axle hub nut.

  8. REMOVE FRONT AXLE HUB SUB-ASSEMBLY LH


    1. A015CFK

      Remove the 4 bolts.

    2. A015AL7E01

      Using SST, remove the front axle hub together with the dust cover.

      09950-40011   ( 09951-04020, 09952-04010, 09953-04020, 09954-04010, 09955-04061, 09957-04010, 09958-04011 )

    3. Remove the O-ring.
