CLUTCH PEDAL (for LHD) REMOVAL


  1. DRAIN CLUTCH FLUID

  2. REMOVE NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL CUSHION

    *1 Protective Tape

    1. Put protective tape around the No. 2 instrument panel finish panel cushion.

    2. Using a moulding remover, detach the 7 claws and remove the No. 2 instrument panel finish panel cushion.

  3. REMOVE LOWER INSTRUMENT PANEL PAD SUB-ASSEMBLY LH

    1. Remove the clip and screw.

    2. Detach the 8 claws.

    3. Disconnect the connectors, detach the 2 clamps and remove the lower instrument panel pad sub-assembly.

  4. REMOVE INSTRUMENT SIDE PANEL LH

    1. Place protective tape as shown in the illustration.

    2. Using a moulding remover, detach the 6 claws and remove the instrument side panel.

  5. REMOVE NO. 1 INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL GARNISH

    1. Place protective tape as shown in the illustration.

    2. Using a moulding remover, detach the 3 claws and remove the No. 1 instrument cluster finish panel garnish.

  6. REMOVE NO. 2 INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL GARNISH


    1. Place protective tape as shown in the illustration.

    2. Using a moulding remover, detach the 2 claws and remove the No. 2 instrument cluster finish panel garnish.

  7. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE LH

    1. Detach the 7 claws and 4 clips, and remove the scuff plate.

  8. REMOVE NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY (w/ Floor Under Cover)

    1. Remove the 2 screws.

    2. Detach the 3 claws.

    3. Disconnect the connectors and remove the No. 1 instrument panel under cover.

  9. REMOVE COWL SIDE TRIM BOARD LH

    1. Remove the cap nut.

    2. Detach the 2 clips and remove the cowl side trim board.

  10. REMOVE LOWER NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL

    1. Using a screwdriver, detach the 2 claws and open the hole cover.

      Tech Tips

      Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

    2. w/ Driver Side Knee Airbag:


      1. Remove the 2 bolts.

      2. Detach the 16 claws.

    3. w/o Driver Side Knee Airbag:


      1. Remove the 2 bolts.

      2. Detach the 9 claws.

      for Automatic Air Conditioning System:


      1. Detach the 2 claws and remove the room temperature sensor.

    5. A0156SA

      Detach the 2 claws and disconnect the 2 control cables.

    6. Disconnect the connectors and remove the lower No. 1 instrument panel finish panel.

  11. REMOVE NO. 1 SWITCH HOLE BASE

    1. Detach the 4 claws.

    2. Disconnect the connectors and remove the No. 1 switch hole cover.

  12. REMOVE DRIVER SIDE KNEE AIRBAG ASSEMBLY (w/ Driver Side Knee Airbag)

      Remove the 5 bolts and driver side knee airbag.

    2. Disconnect the connector.

      Note

      When handling the airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.

  13. REMOVE LOWER INSTRUMENT PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY (w/o Driver Side Knee Airbag)

    1. Detach the 2 claws and disconnect the DLC3.

    2. Remove the 5 bolts and lower instrument panel.

  14. REMOVE MAIN BODY ECU (COWL SIDE JUNCTION BLOCK LH)

      Remove the 3 bolts.

    2. A015D8H

      Disconnect the 9 ECU connectors and remove the ECU.

  15. DISCONNECT CLUTCH MASTER CYLINDER TO FLEXIBLE HOSE TUBE AND CLUTCH RESERVOIR TUBE

    1. Using a union nut wrench, disconnect the flexible hose tube.

      Tech Tips

      Use a container to catch the fluid.

    2. Disconnect the clutch reservoir tube.

  16. REMOVE CLUTCH PEDAL SUPPORT ASSEMBLY WITH CLUTCH MASTER CYLINDER


    1. Disconnect the clutch start switch connector.

    2. w/ Cruise Control System:

      Disconnect the clutch switch connector.

      Remove the 2 nuts, bolt and clutch pedal support with clutch master cylinder.

  17. REMOVE TURNOVER SPRING

    1. Move the pedal to the full stroke position.

    2. Remove the turnover spring.

  18. REMOVE CLUTCH PEDAL SPRING

    1. Remove the 2 E-rings and the spring with spacer.

    2. Remove the spacer from the spring.

  19. REMOVE CLUTCH PEDAL SUB-ASSEMBLY


    1. A015DRE

      Remove the clip, wave washer and clevis pin.

    2. A0158AI

      Remove the nut, washer and bolt.

    3. Remove the clutch pedal from the clutch pedal support.

  20. REMOVE CLUTCH PEDAL PAD


    1. Remove the clutch pedal pad from the clutch pedal.

  21. REMOVE CLUTCH PEDAL SHAFT COLLAR

    1. Remove the clutch pedal shaft collar from the clutch pedal.

  22. REMOVE CLUTCH PEDAL BUSH

      Remove the 2 bushes from the clutch pedal.

  23. REMOVE NO. 2 CLUTCH PEDAL CUSHION

      Remove the 2 clutch pedal cushions from the clutch pedal.

  24. REMOVE CLUTCH PEDAL TURNOVER BUSH

    1. Remove the clutch pedal turnover bush from the clutch pedal.

  25. REMOVE CLUTCH MASTER CYLINDER PUSH ROD CLEVIS BUSH

      Remove the push rod clevis bush from the clutch pedal.

  26. REMOVE CLUTCH PEDAL SPRING HOLDER

      Remove the clutch pedal spring holder from the clutch pedal support.
