INSPECTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE

  1. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING INTELLIGENT TESTER (REAR A/C MAG VALVE)

    1. Select the Active Test, use the intelligent tester to generate a control command, and then check that the rear cooling unit expansion valve operates.

      OK
Rear cooling unit expansion valve operates normally.

  2. INSPECT FUSE (A/C IG)

    1. Remove the A/C IG fuse from the cowl side junction block LH.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A/C IG fuse Always Below 1 Ω

    NG
    OK
  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (WIRING AIR CONDITIONING HARNESS - BATTERY)

    1. A015AG1E03

Disconnect the wiring air conditioning harness sub-assembly connector.

    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      2 (+S) - Body ground Engine switch off Below 1 Ω
Engine switch on (IG) 11 to 14 V

    NG
    OK
  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (WIRING AIR CONDITIONING HARNESS - AIR CONDITIONING AMPLIFIER)

    A0155KNE01

    1. Disconnect the wiring air conditioning harness sub-assembly connector.

    2. Disconnect the E36 amplifier connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      3 (RMGV) - E36-19 (RMGV) Always Below 1 Ω
3 (RMGV) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      E36-19 (RMGV) - Body ground

    NG
    OK
  5. CHECK REAR COOLING UNIT EXPANSION VALVE (OPERATION)

    1. Replace the rear cooling unit expansion valve Click here.

      Tech Tips

Since the rear cooling unit expansion valve cannot be inspected while it is removed from the vehicle, replace the rear cooling unit expansion valve with a normal one and check that the condition returns to normal.

      OK
      Same problem does not occur.

    NG
    OK
  6. CHECK WIRING AIR CONDITIONING HARNESS SUB-ASSEMBLY (OPERATION)

    1. Replace the wiring air conditioning harness sub-assembly with a normal one and check that the condition returns to normal.

      OK
      Same problem does not occur.

    NG
    OK
