DESCRIPTION

The ECM monitors the output voltage to the throttle actuator. This self-check ensures that the ECM is functioning properly. The output voltage usually is 0 V when the engine switch is turned off. If the output voltage is higher than 7 V when the engine switch is turned off, the ECM will illuminate the MIL and store a DTC when the engine switch is turned on (IG).

CONFIRMATION DRIVING PATTERN


  1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

  2. Turn the engine switch on (IG) and turn the GTS on.

  3. Clear DTCs (even if no DTCs are stored, perform the clear DTC operation).

  4. Turn the GTS off.

  5. Turn the engine switch off.

  6. Disconnect the GTS.

  7. Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal and wait for 1 minute.

  8. Connect the cable to the negative (-) battery terminal.

  9. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

  10. Turn the engine switch on (IG).

  11. Wait 10 seconds or more.

  12. Turn the engine switch off and wait for 15 seconds or more.

  13. Turn the engine switch on (IG) and turn the GTS on.

  14. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / Trouble Codes.

  15. Read the pending DTCs.

    Tip:

    • If a pending DTC is output, the system is malfunctioning.

    • If a pending DTC is not output, perform the following procedure.

  16. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / Utility / All Readiness.

  17. Input the DTC: P0657.

  18. Check the DTC judgment result.

    GTS Display Description
    NORMAL

    • DTC judgment completed

    • System normal
    ABNORMAL

    • DTC judgment completed

    • System abnormal
    INCOMPLETE

    • DTC judgment not completed

    • Perform driving pattern after confirming DTC enabling conditions
    N/A

    • Unable to perform DTC judgment

    • Number of DTCs which do not fulfill DTC preconditions has reached ECU memory limit
    Tip:

    • If the judgment result shows NORMAL, the system is normal.

    • If the judgment result shows ABNORMAL, the system has a malfunction.

  1. Click here

    CHECK FOR DTC


    1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the engine switch on (IG).

    3. Turn the GTS on.

    4. Clear DTCs (Click here).

    5. Turn the GTS off.

    6. Turn the engine switch off.

    7. Disconnect the GTS.

    8. Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal and wait for 1 minute.

    9. Connect the cable to the negative (-) battery terminal.

    10. Turn the engine switch on (IG).

    11. Wait 10 seconds or more.

    12. Turn the engine switch off.

    13. Wait 15 seconds or more.

    14. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    15. Turn the engine switch on (IG) and turn the GTS on.

    16. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / Trouble Codes.

    17. Check for DTCs.

      OK
      P0657 is not output.
