READ VALUE USING GTS (STARTER SIGNAL)

    1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the engine switch on (IG).

    3. Turn the GTS on.

    4. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / Data List / Starter Signal.

    5. Read the value.

      OK
      Engine Switch Position Starter Signal
      On (IG) Close
      START Open

CHECK STARTER RELAY (ST) (POWER SOURCE)

    1. Remove the starter relay (ST) from the engine room relay block.

    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
Starter relay (ST) terminal 2 - Body ground Engine cranking 11 to 14 V
Starter relay (ST) terminal 1* - Body ground Engine cranking 11 to 14 V

      *: URJ202L-GNTEKC

      Tip:

The engine does not crank because the relay is not installed.

    3. Reinstall the starter relay (ST).

CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (STARTER RELAY (ST) - PARK/NEUTRAL POSITION SWITCH)

    1. Remove the starter relay (ST) from the engine room relay block.

    2. Disconnect the park/neutral position switch connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      Starter relay (ST) terminal 1* - C24-5 (L) Always Below 1 Ω
      Starter relay (ST) terminal 2 - C24-5 (L) Always Below 1 Ω
Starter relay (ST) terminal 1* or C24-5 (L) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
Starter relay (ST) terminal 2 or C24-5 (L) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      *: URJ202L-GNTEKC

    4. Reinstall the starter relay (ST).

    5. Reconnect the park/neutral position switch connector.
