REAR BUMPER DISASSEMBLY


  1. REMOVE REAR BUMPER PAD LH

      Remove the rear bumper pad LH.

  2. REMOVE REAR BUMPER PAD RH

      Remove the rear bumper pad RH.

  3. REMOVE REFLEX REFLECTOR ASSEMBLY LH

      Remove the screw.

    2. Disengage the claw and remove the reflex reflector assembly LH.

  4. REMOVE REFLEX REFLECTOR ASSEMBLY RH

    Tech Tips

    Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

  5. REMOVE ULTRASONIC SENSOR WITH CLIP (w/ LEXUS Parking Assist-sensor System)

      Disconnect the connector and disengage the clamp.

      Disengage the 2 claws and remove the ultrasonic sensor with clip.

  6. REMOVE NO. 1 ULTRASONIC SENSOR RETAINER (w/ LEXUS Parking Assist-sensor System)

    Tech Tips

    Perform this step only when necessary.

      Remove the 2 No. 1 ultrasonic sensor retainers.

      Tech Tips

      Use the same procedure for all No. 1 ultrasonic sensor retainers.

    2. Remove the old double-sided tape from the rear bumper assembly.

  7. REMOVE NO. 2 LUGGAGE ROOM WIRE (w/ LEXUS Parking Assist-sensor System)

      Disengage the clamp and remove the No. 2 luggage room wire.

    2. A01G979

      Remove the ultrasonic sensor clip.

  8. REMOVE LOWER REAR BUMPER RETAINER (w/o Tail Exhaust Pipe Baffle)

      Remove the 2 screws.

    2. A01G8VA

      Disengage the 10 claws and remove the lower rear bumper retainer.

  9. REMOVE NO. 2 REAR BUMPER SIDE SUPPORT LH

      Using a screw driver, Disengage the 4 clips as shown in the illustration.

    2. A01G7XB

      Disengage the 5 claws and remove the No. 2 rear bumper side support LH.

  10. REMOVE NO. 2 REAR BUMPER SIDE SUPPORT RH

    Tech Tips

    Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

  11. REMOVE NO. 1 REAR BUMPER SIDE SUPPORT LH

      Remove the 2 grommets.

      Remove the screw.

    3. A01G5UG

      Remove the screw.

    4. A01G6RN

      Disengage the 2 guides and claw and remove the No. 1 rear bumper side support LH.

  12. REMOVE NO. 1 REAR BUMPER SIDE SUPPORT RH

    Tech Tips

    Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

  13. REMOVE REAR BUMPER ENERGY ABSORBER

      Disengage the 2 guides and remove the rear bumper energy absorber.

  14. REMOVE NO. 1 REAR BUMPER REINFORCEMENT

      Remove the 6 nuts and No. 1 rear bumper reinforcement.
