  1. INSPECT OUTER MIRROR SWITCH ASSEMBLY (w/ Memory)

      Component without harness connected

      (Outer Mirror Switch Assembly)

      Check the switch functions.


      1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

        Standard Resistance
        Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
        16 (M+) - 14 (E) Mirror adjust switch pressed up 90 to 110 Ω
        Mirror adjust switch pressed down 437 to 503 Ω
        Mirror adjust switch pressed left 744 to 856 Ω
        Mirror adjust switch pressed right 225 to 275 Ω
        Mirror adjust switch not pressed 10 kΩ or higher
        13 (MSW) - 14 (E) Mirror select switch R Below 1 Ω
        Mirror select switch L 90 to 110 Ω
        Mirror select switch off 10 kΩ or higher

        If the result is not as specified, replace the outer mirror switch assembly.

    2. Check the LED illuminates.

        Apply battery voltage to the outer mirror switch assembly and check that the LED illuminates.

        Standard
        Measurement Condition Specified Condition

        Battery positive (+) → Terminal 23 (ILL+)

        Battery negative (-) → Terminal 24 (ILL-)

        LED illuminates

        If the result is not as specified, replace the outer mirror switch assembly.

  2. INSPECT OUTER MIRROR SWITCH ASSEMBLY (w/o Memory)


    1. Check the mirror select switch and mirror surface adjust switch.

        Turn the mirror select switch to the L position.

      2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

        Standard Resistance (for left side)

        9 (VL) - 11 (B)

        6 (M+) - 12 (E)

        UP Below 1 Ω
        OFF 10 kΩ or higher

        9 (VL) - 12 (E)

        6 (M+) - 11 (B)

        DOWN Below 1 Ω
        OFF 10 kΩ or higher

        10 (HL) - 11 (B)

        6 (M+) - 12 (E)

        LEFT Below 1 Ω
        OFF 10 kΩ or higher

        10 (HL) - 12 (E)

        6 (M+) - 11 (B)

        RIGHT Below 1 Ω
        OFF 10 kΩ or higher
      3. Turn the mirror select switch to the R position.

      4. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

        Standard Resistance (for right side)

        8 (VR) - 11 (B)

        6 (M+) - 12 (E)

        UP Below 1 Ω
        OFF 10 kΩ or higher

        8 (VR) - 12 (E)

        6 (M+) - 11 (B)

        7 (HR) - 11 (B)

        6 (M+) - 12 (E)

        LEFT Below 1 Ω
        OFF 10 kΩ or higher

        RIGHT Below 1 Ω
        OFF 10 kΩ or higher

        If the result is not as specified, replace the outer mirror switch assembly.

    2. Check the mirror retract switch.

        Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

        13 (MR) - 11 (B) Below 1 Ω
        14 (MF) - 11 (B) Mirror retract switch return position Below 1 Ω
        13 (MR) - 12 (E) Below 1 Ω

        If the result is not as specified, replace the outer mirror switch assembly.

    3. Check the LED illuminates.

        Apply battery voltage to the outer mirror switch assembly and check that the LED illuminates.

  3. INSPECT RETRACTABLE OUTER MIRROR SWITCH

      Check that the switch functions.


      1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

        Standard Resistance
        Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition

        Except AUTO position 10 kΩ or higher
        2 (MR) - 4 (E) Retract position Below 1 Ω
        Except retract position 10 kΩ or higher

        If the result is not as specified, replace the outer mirror retractable switch.

      (Retractable Outer Mirror Switch)

      Check that the LED illuminates.


      1. Apply battery voltage to the retractable outer mirror switch and check that the LED illuminates.

        Measurement Condition Specified Condition

        Battery negative (-) → 1 (ILL-)

        LED illuminates

        If the result is not as specified, replace the retractable outer mirror switch.
