DESCRIPTION

"Back door" refers to the luggage compartment door.

DTC B2251 is output when there is a malfunction in the half-latch switch circuit of the luggage door closer assembly.

  • If the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) is replaced, refer to Service Bulletin.

  • Inspect the fuses for circuits related to this system before performing the following inspection procedure.

  1. CLEAR DTC


    1. Clear the DTCs Click here.

  2. CHECK FOR DTC


    1. Check for DTCs Click here.

      OK
      DTC B2251 is not output.

    NG
    OK
  3. READ VALUE USING GTS


    1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the engine switch on (IG).

    3. Turn the GTS on.

    4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Back Door / Data List.

    5. Read the Data List according to the display on the GTS.

      ON: Half-latch switch of luggage door closer assembly on (Luggage compartment door open)

      • When this item is abnormal, there is a problem with the half-latch switch of the luggage door closer assembly or related parts.

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (LUGGAGE CLOSER MOTOR ASSEMBLY - LUGGAGE DOOR CLOSER ASSEMBLY)


    1. Disconnect the U16 luggage closer motor assembly connector.

    2. Disconnect the U14 luggage door closer assembly connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      U16-7 (HAF) - U14-6 (FSW) Always Below 1 Ω
      U16-7 (HAF) or U14-6 (FSW) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

  5. REPLACE LUGGAGE DOOR CLOSER ASSEMBLY


    1. Temporarily replace the luggage door closer assembly with a new or known good one Click here.
