SLIDING ROOF HOUSING (for Glass Roof) REMOVAL


  1. REMOVE SLIDING ROOF SIDE GARNISH LH

      Remove the sliding roof side garnish LH.

  2. REMOVE SLIDING ROOF SIDE GARNISH RH

    Tech Tips

    Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

  3. REMOVE SLIDING ROOF GLASS SUB-ASSEMBLY

      Using a T25 "TORX" socket wrench, remove the 6 screws and sliding roof glass sub-assembly.

      Note

      To prevent the sliding roof glass and sliding roof drive gear from being displaced, fully close the sliding roof glass (sliding roof drive cable), and then remove the sliding roof glass sub-assembly.

  4. REMOVE SLIDING ROOF PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY

      Using a T20 "TORX" socket wrench, remove the 6 screws and sliding roof panel sub-assembly.

  5. REMOVE ROOF HEADLINING ASSEMBLY

  6. REMOVE TELEPHONE ANTENNA ASSEMBLY (w/ Antenna)

      Disconnect the connector.

    2. Remove the antenna nut.

      Disengage the 2 claws and remove the telephone antenna assembly.

  7. REMOVE CURTAIN SHIELD AIRBAG ASSEMBLY LH

    CAUTION:

    When storing the curtain shield airbag assembly, keep the airbag deployment side facing upward.


    1. Check that the engine switch is off.

    2. Check that the cable is disconnected from the negative (-) battery terminal.

      CAUTION:

      Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

      Using a screwdriver with its tip wrapped with protective tape, release the airbag connector lock and disconnect the airbag connector.

      Note

      When disconnecting any airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.

    4. Using a clip remover, remove the pin.

      Tech Tips

      Perform the same procedure for the other pins.

    5. Using the 2 screw drivers, disengage the 2 claws and remove the clip from the body panel as shown in the illustration.

      Tech Tips

      Perform the same procedure for the other clips.

    6. While holding the curtain shield airbag assembly, remove the 4 bolts and 2 tapes.

      Note

      When removing the curtain shield airbag assembly, have assistants hold it to prevent it from bending.

    7. Disengage the clip and 2 clamps.

    8. Disengage the 4 hooks to remove the curtain shield airbag assembly.

      Using needle-nose pliers, disengage the 2 clamps to remove the rear No. 2 side rail spacer.

  13. REMOVE SLIDING ROOF HOUSING ASSEMBLY


    1. Using a T25 "TORX" socket wrench, remove the 6 screws.

    2. Remove the 10 nuts and sliding roof housing assembly.

  14. REMOVE SLIDING ROOF HOUSING PANEL


    1. Remove the 20 nuts and sliding roof housing panel.

      When removing the sliding roof housing panel, be careful not to damage the vehicle.
