  • Front seat outer belt assembly LH

  • Wire harness or connector (seat belt control ECU - front seat outer belt assembly LH)

  • Seat belt control ECU

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

CAUTION:

The pretensioner is built into the front seat outer belt assembly LH. Be sure to follow the correct inspection procedure, as failure to follow the correct procedure (such as inspection of incorrect connectors) may deploy the pretensioner.

PROCEDURE


  1. INSPECT FRONT SEAT OUTER BELT ASSEMBLY LH

      Component without harness connected

      (Front Seat Outer Belt Assembly LH)

      Disconnect the P21 front seat outer belt assembly LH connector.

      Tech Tips

      Do not remove the front seat outer belt assembly LH.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      P21-1 - P21-2 Always Below 20 Ω

      CAUTION:

      Do not check the wrong connector.

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (FRONT SEAT OUTER BELT ASSEMBLY LH - SEAT BELT CONTROL ECU)


    1. Disconnect the P21 front seat outer belt assembly LH connector.

    2. Disconnect the H77 seat belt control ECU connector.

    3. Using a service wire, connect terminals 1 and 2 of the connector on the front seat outer belt assembly LH.

      Note

      Do not forcibly insert the service wire into the terminals of the connector.

    4. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      H77-3 (MOL+) - H77-4 (MOL-) Always Below 1 Ω
